General Conference Sunday

IMG_9333 Today we spent the morning watching Disney Channel.  Then at 11:00, Monzingos came over to watch conference with us.  The talks that I heard were all excellent (yes, I admit that I slept through a few of them).  I just can’t help falling asleep when I’m all snuggled up in the cozy chair with a blanket.  I need to start sitting on a hard chair so I’ll stay awake.  But I always like to read the talks in the May edition of the Ensign better anyways, b/c then I can mark them all up and put notes and stuff.  Anyways, during the break between sessions Curt came over and had Maggie remove some stitches he had Dad put in his lips from getting hurt at hockey.  For lunch we had salad, pizza lasagna, garlic bread, and then Costco cake for dessert! YUM!

IMG_9339 I didn’t do too good at staying awake during the second session of conference either, b/c my tummy was full and I again was snuggled up in the cozy chair with a blanket.  But, the talks I did hear were all EXCELLENT.  Dad came home and Autumn became his new best friend when she saw that he had grapefruit.  She has such strange tastes for a 2 year old, but I’m glad she likes her fruits and veggies.

IMG_9349 We had been cooped up inside all day, so we walked over to the lot to look around and take some pictures.  Autumn liked looking at this big thing of cacti (is that how you say the plural of cactus???) we found over on the lot.

IMG_9354 We also ventured through all the weeds and tall grass and leaves to go down to the stream behind the lot.  Autumn had a blast throwing sticks into the stream and watching them get caught at the dam.  It was such a great day, and I am glad the Monzingos came over to watch conference with us.

I am so incredibly thankful to have a living prophet that leads and guides this church under the direction of Jesus Christ himself.  How lucky we are to have a modern day Moses or Noah or Abraham to help guide and lead us in these troubled times.  I can’t wait to get my hands on that May Ensign!  I’d have to say that my favorite talk that stood out the most to me was the one by Elder Holland, None Were With Him, about the Savior’s lonely road and all that he went through in Gethsemane and on Calvary for us.  Very powerful talk!

I hope everyone enjoyed their conference weekend as much as I did!!!
