Saturday Session Of Conference

Today we spent the day watching General Conference.  Autumn was in a good mood and especially liked it when we had grapes for a treat.  We watched the morning session and then she went down for a nap and I went to the store to get some groceries.

Liz & Liberty came over for the second session.  They are so funny, especially when I tell them to smile for the camera…I get these funny faces.

After conference we walked over to the lot to take some pictures.  Liz picked these flowers for Autumn.

Liz & Autumn went over and stuck their feet in the pool.  Autumn kept kicking her feet and getting Liz all wet.  But they had fun splashing together.

After the boys left for priesthood session, we busted out the chef’s hats to start the pecan pie bake off.  Autumn even wore her pink chef’s hat to help me.

But not to be biased, she had to help Liz, too.  While we made our pies we wanted to watch a chick flick, so Liz picked out Enchanted.

This is what our pies looked like after they were done baking.  I got my recipe from Chantal and they put chocolate chips in hers, so mine is the one on the left.  Liz saw I put chocolate chips in mine, so she wanted to put something special in hers and she put some peanut M&M’s (that’s what the blue dot is).  I talked her into only putting a few in there instead of a bunch of them.

I also made this frozen limeade pie just in case the men wanted something other than pecan pie.  It is SO EASY…only 3 ingredients and it is kind of like a key lime pie but so much faster and easier.

The men came back from priesthood session and we had steak & everything sandwiches for them b/c they were all starving.  After they ate their sandwiches, it was time to start the contest.

First of all, we blindfolded all of them and had them try a bite of my pie and a bite of Liz’s pie and say which one they liked best.

Since they were blindfolded, they couldn’t see what they were doing so we had to feed them so they didn’t make a mess.

Liz won the bake off by a landslide…4 to 1.  I guess the guys were more into traditional pecan pie instead of pecan pie w/ chocolate in it.  It was so much fun and we all had a good time.  Liz had brought some gifts for the bake off.  I got a little walrus figurine and she got a tub full of this slime stuff. LOL! 

We watched the rest of Shall We Dance (we had started it before the men got home after Enchanted was over).  It was a fun day, and as you can tell, we were all worn out from all the fun and excitement.
