We did some cleaning this morning and then we both needed to get out of the house, so we went over to the ponds where Autumn chased some ducks around. She kept looking back at me to make sure it was ok. I was surprised that they let her get so close, but I guess they’re used to being fed.
We then walked over to the park and Autumn had fun riding the “Scary tooth dinosaur.”
Then she thought she was hot stuff when she figured out how to get into the other dinosaur seat. She played for a while and the weather was PERFECT! It was overcast w/ a light breeze. We were out there for a good 3-4 hours. When we first got there, a group of 4 boys and 2 girls were on the swings. They were probably 12-13 and I was shocked at the language they were using. They kept saying the F-word, and I would just look over at them and shake my head. I was surprised that they would use such bad language in front of an adult. I am so worried and don’t want Autumn to grow up in the type of world where 12 year olds think it’s ok to use such bad language.
Anyways, some other kids came to the park and this cute little girl who was about 9 and her brother came over and just started talking to us. The little girl’s name was Terry and she took Autumn around on the playground and helped her go down the slide. Then there was a little birthday party going on under the pavilion at the park and the parents came over and asked if Autumn and I wanted some of the cake. We went over and had some, and it was such a great afternoon.
