Jet Skiing

Today at 5:00 Dad called and said Britt (his best friend) had invited him to go jet skiing at the lake, but he couldn’t b/c he was back up at the clinic.  So, Britt said I could go if I wanted.  I called Britt and told him I would LOVE to go.  I went over to the house and a group of 7 of us met up and headed out to the lake.  We stopped to get some water at this little gas station and saw this funny sign.  Who wants a bait sandwich?  GROSS!

Then we stopped at Sonic to get a drink.  There were a TON of bikers there and a bunch of them had American flags on the back of their motorcycles, which I thought was cool.  Who knew Sonic was a place that bikers hung out?

We got our drinks and headed out to the lake.  We set up our camping chairs on the beach and just sat and enjoyed our drinks while we watched the teenage boys play on the wave runners.  I thought this picture was the perfect depiction of how the evening was…fun, relaxing, and serene.

Britt & I both love cranberry slushes, and he was so nice to not only provide the wave runners but he also bought the drinks and paid for our admission to the park.  He’s such a fun guy.

After a while Brad (Britt’s son) came into shore and they asked if I wanted a turn.  I, of course, wanted to try it, but I wanted Brad to take me out on it first so I could see what it was like.  I threatened him w/ his life if we tipped or if he threw me off by driving crazy, b/c I didn’t think I would be able to pull my self back up on the jet ski if I fell off.  About 2 minutes into the ride guess what happened…I went flying off the jet ski…what a little stinker!  But, it was actually pretty easy to pull myself back up on the jet ski.  After Brad threw me off a few more times I told him I wanted a turn driving.  It was SO MUCH FUN!  At one point I got up to 54 mph, which was awesome…the water was calm and like glass.

I left my camera w/ Britt so he could take some pictures of me on the jet ski.  He got some great ones, and he also got a few of himself…LOL!  I just love him and his family.  They are all so giving and caring and fun.  They are like the type of family I hope to be/have someday.  And Britt is so WONDERFUL and AMAZING and GRACIOUS and CARING and KIND and GIVING and INCREDIBLE!

It started to get dark, so we had to pack up and head home.  It was such an awesome evening.  I’m so thankful Mom was willing to watch Autumn for me so I could go out and have some fun.
