Today was Dad’s 54th Birthday. After church we all went over to Mom & Dad’s to celebrate. We even busted out the special birthday tablecloth and red plate and Happy Birthday clown that Mom painted forever ago…it’s tradition.
For his birthday dinner (it’s also tradition that Mom makes us whatever meal we request for our birthday) Dad picked rouladen, spetzla (noodles), and Thanksgiving green beans (the ones w/ cream of mushroom and friend onions on top). That rouladen was MOUTH WATERING!
Instead of a traditional birthday cake, Dad wanted to have homemade cream puffs (so scrumptious). We only had these candles, so that’s why we were joking and saying Dad was 300 this year, but not that he looked like the guys on the movie 300…LOL!
He wanted some cologne for his birthday, so we got him Swiss Army, Aqua di Gio, and Happy. He also had gone and bought himself some new shirts for church.
Autumn had so much fun that after the party, she went and laid on Mom & Dad’s bed and started watching Pocahontas and next thing I know, she was out like a light. And what spoiled rotten princess can go to sleep w/out her princess hat?
I can’t even begin to express how thankful I am for my Dad. I know most people think they have the best Dad, but my Dad is right up there w/ the best Dad’s in the world. He is such a hard worker…he gets up at 5 am to go teach Seminary, comes home and works in the yard, fixes things around the house, then goes to work at the clinic all night and gets up and does it all over again the next day. He works hard so that we can play hard. He is so amazing w/ Autumn and she just adores him…they are like two peas in a pod. He is so good to my Mom and shows me what it is like to have a good marriage. I am eternally grateful that I was born into this family and that I get to have him as my Dad.
HAPPY 54th BIRTHDAY, DAD!!!
