Lovely Luau

IMG_3232 I found this adorable dress at WalMart the other day for $6.  Autumn wanted to wear it today, and I thought she looked adorable in it.  I love little cotton dresses like this for the spring and summer.  They’re nice to just throw on Autumn and let her run around in.

IMG_2382 Today was a good Friday work day.  It was busy, but not too bad.  Mary brought in donuts for breakfast and then at lunchtime, RJ’s wife and kids came in to visit him and his wife brought us these treats.  They’re no bake cookies (incredible) and warm, fresh-out-of-the-oven lemon bars (divine).  It was a great Friday afternoon treat.

IMG_2383 Another fun surprise at work today was that Heather got some gorgeous Gerber daisies delivered to her.  They were from a guy that she met online, and we were all so super excited for her.

IMG_3235 I went and got Autumn from daycare and came home and got all gussied up for a luau tonight.  I got to sit at the singles table, which was fun since Nate was there.  We were for sure the loudest and most fun table.  The food was great…all different types of rice, kalua pork sandwiches, and tons of different fruit trays.  My favorite thing, though, was the drinks.  They tasted like Bahama Mama’s and it was a mix of pineapple soda, pina colada mix, and vanilla ice cream.  I felt like I was back in the islands.

IMG_3236 I got ALL decked out for tonight.  I have so many Polynesian rings and earrings and hair flowers that I had to wear as many as I could since I don’t get very many opportunities to wear them.

IMG_3239 Here’s the life of the party.  They also helped to man the Tiki drink bar.  I am glad I have such party people in my life.

IMG_3243 After all the eating and drinking, they busted out this HUGE homemade Twister game.  It took up one whole section in the cultural hall.  I was impressed w/ how many people actually played.

IMG_3247 It was so funny to see some of the crazy and awkward positions some people got into.  I was impressed w/ how flexible these people were.  And talk about some major upper body strength!  The luau was lots of fun and they decorations were awesome and super festive.  I had a good time, but left early so I could spend some time w/ Autumn Bottom since I’ll be gone most of the day tomorrow while I’m at my photography class.

I LOVE LUAUS!
