I forgot that it was time to “spring forward” and it wasn’t until I called Mom at 9:45 to ask about borrowing something for my class that she reminded me to move the clocks forward an hour. I had to rush and get ready, and we were still a little late but at least we made it. I absolutely LOVE my new Primary class. They are some of the smartest 9 year olds ever and always ask great questions. After church we came home and had some crock pot chicken, which was delicious. It’s one of life’s little pleasures to open the door to be house to be met w/the aroma of lunch already ready.
Michael wanted to stop by and say hi on his way back home from his guy’s weekend. I had been telling Autumn we would go to the park b/c the weather was so nice, so as soon as he got there and had a bite to eat, we were off to the park. It was so sunny and nice out, and I’m glad I wore capris so I could get some sun on my super white legs. Autumn was such a little busy body and loved running around.
While we were sitting on our blanket and watching Autumn, we were also people watching. There was a group of teenage boys that definitely looked out of place amongst the little kids. The kid w/ his shirt off was practicing all these strange karate moves and reminded me of Coach on Survivor when he does his relaxation stuff.
He was showing the group of boys how to do kicks and moves. I didn’t want to seem too conspicuous w/ my big old camera lens, but I was able to get a picture of him doing a jump move, but the bridge got in the way. Michael & I got such a “kick” out of sitting and watching these kids that thought they were so cool.
Autumn is so independent and tried climbing on some of the move advanced stuff at the playground. I am so proud of her and all the progress she is making. When on Earth did she get to be this big and grown up? I swear it happened overnight…I blinked and she was a little girl instead of a toddler.
Michael had his “man bag” w/ him and I made him show me the contents so I could take a picture and make fun of him for caring so much stuff. But, I do have to admit it comes in handy a lot of times.
This picture reminded me of Mowgli from the Jungle Book. She’s my little monkey.
She also has feet of steel, b/c she spent 1/2 the time walking around on the wood chips w/ out shoes. I kept trying to make her wear them but the little pieces would get in her shoes and bothered her more than just walking on them bare foot. I have no idea how she did that, b/c those things hurt!
I love to just sit and people watch and wonder what their lives are like and what posses them to wear things like this in public? Right before we left, this weird group of people came to the park w/ their drums and bongos and banjos and their Bibles. Maybe we should have stuck around to see what they were going to sing, but we were too sunburnt.
We came home and Autumn took a nap b/c she was exhausted from running around and climbing and playing. I made cupcakes and homemade cream cheese frosting. Then Nick came home and we watched a movie. It was such a fun and sunny Sunday.
