Dad called right after Autumn & I had finished eating dinner and said he and Mimi were going to come over and show us what they had caught. It was this opossum and he was NOT happy to be trapped.
For those of you that don’t speak “Autumn”, let me translate the title of this post for you, “Let’s go to the lake and let the opossum go.” Dad said that’s what we were going to do, so Autumn kept saying it over and over. We drove out to a big open area by the lake and let the opossum go. He was so happy to be free and scurried off as fast as he could. I love the sign that says not to block the gate and what are we doing? Ignoring the sign and blocking the gate.
On our little drive out in the country, we found a hill of bluebonnets and just had to stop and get some pictures.
I did not tell her to pose, she just did this little hands-on-the-knee thing on her own. That’s why she’s so dang cute.
No trip out to the lake is complete w/out stopping in at Sonic to get a treat. Autumn insisted on getting “pink ice cream,” so we got a strawberry creamslush to share. It was hard to get a picture of us sharing our drink, b/c she kept laughing and thought it was so funny that we both had a straw and were drinking at the same time. We topped off a fun evening by stopping by the bank so Mom could deposit some checks and then Dad & Autumn went in Lowe’s to see if they had something Dad needed for the pool. After all the fun, we came home and I gave Autumn a bath and she went to sleep and I’ve been blogging. It was a fun and unexpected evening out.
