Playing At The Park With Papa

IMG_2533

IMG_2538 This evening after work/school, Autumn & I came home and made some yummy Thai pasta w/some frozen veggies.  Super tasty and super healthy b/c it was wheat pasta and had lots of veggies.  After we ate, we wanted to get outside and soak up some of this GORGEOUS weather.  We walked a few blocks to one of the parks in our neighborhood.  This park is for bigger kids (ages 5 and up).  But, Autumn did good getting around on the bigger playground.  There was this slide that was made completely out of rollers and she wasn’t too sure about it, so she would kneel by it and push the rollers.  I finally just grabbed her arm and helped her go down it and she ended up loving it and did it over and over again (but wanted my help each time).  After running around for a little bit, she wanted to take off her socks and shoes, roll up her pants, and go stick her toes in the sand.  The feeling of soft sand between your toes is one of life’s little enjoyable pleasures.

IMG_2541 While we were still at the park, Mom & Dad called to say they just got out of watching a movie and wanted to come say hi, so we told them to stop by the park.  Autumn liked sitting in this little dinosaur and wanted Papa to “race” her.  I love the look on Dad’s face w/ being so intent to win, and then the big old grin on Autumn’s face.

IMG_2544Papa looked like he was having so much fun riding the dinosaur that Autumn wanted to switch and have a turn.  Dad couldn’t sit down in the one Autumn had been on, so he just straddled it, but she came over and told him he was doing it wrong and had to sit down in it.  So, he tried and was only able to get one leg through.  Mom & I just sat there and laughed at the two of them.

IMG_2550After all the excitement of racing dinosaurs, it’s was off to the swings.  Dad asks how high Autumn wants to be pushed and she always says, “scary high,” which really isn’t high at all.  But, I’m thrilled she’ll even get on the swings, b/c for a long time she would freak out if I tried to push her on one.  Autumn & I had gone down this slide earlier, but she wouldn’t go down it unless I went w/ her.  It had two turns, and I was ready for the first one, but not the second one and almost fell off on the 2nd curve.  I hit the side of my ribs pretty hard and already have a nice bruise and it’s tender to the touch.  Dad went down it just fine (but that’s b/c I warned him to watch out for that 2nd curve…you’re welcome). LOL!

IMG_2554 By this time, it was starting to get dark and cold, so we headed home.  Mom drove the car and Dad, Autumn & I walked/ran home.  We raced Mom & it was a lot of fun.  Once we got home, Autumn wanted to dance.  So, I put on the music and Autumn went & put on her “dancing shoes”.  She kept wanting Papa to spin her around.  After he got tired, she wanted some lotion.  She is obsessed w/ lotion!  She put some on Dad’s legs and kept saying, “Eww.  You got hair.”  She sure is a cute little thing and makes life interesting all the time.  Hearing her laugh and giggle and have fun makes me so happy.
