Since I was up until 3:30 am last night, Autumn let me sleep in until 9:00 while she just watched TV in my bed while I slept. Then she decided it was time for me to get up and kept trying to push me out of bed. I got up and we had some breakfast and then watched The Princess & The Frog. My favorite part is still when Ray says, “GO TO BED! Y’all from Shreveport?” I get a giggle out of that every time. After the movie, Autumn wanted to take a bath, so we got cleaned up and then headed out for the day. The first stop was Costco to get some gas and then we got some frozen edamame, Fiber One bars and canned chicken. We were both hungry since it was lunch time already, so we got a hot dog and piece of pizza and a drink that we shared.
After that we went to Home Depot to get some tiles for my Elder Uchtdorf vinyl letter saying to go on. We went to go down the tile aisle, but a person dressed up as a cow for Chick Fil’ A came walking down the aisle and I almost screamed, b/c I am scared to death & have a phobia of people in costumes where I can’t see their faces. Luckily I was able to keep myself from screaming and quickly ran down the other aisle until the cow was going the other way. We got the tiles we needed and went to check out. The girl that checked us out read the quote (I had taken it in w/ me to make sure it would fit on the tiles). She said that was a neat quote and proceeded to check us out. I noticed she didn’t charge me for a small 6x6 tile and I told her about it. She said there wasn’t a bar code on it and not to worry about it. I told her there was a sign under the tile and it said 80 cents. Again, she said not to worry about it. I kept trying to get her to ring it up, but she wouldn’t. So, I finally just said ok and told her thank you. Kind of weird that she wouldn’t charge me for it.
I was SHOCKED at how much work the guys had done on the patio covering in just one day. They have done a great job and it blends right in w/ the rest of the house and looks like it should have been there all along. It’s going to be so nice to have shade during the hot summer.
Autumn took a nap while I did some blogging. Mom & Dad & I just sat outside talking for a few hours while we sat in the shade of our patio covering and enjoyed the 70 degree weather with the light breeze. It was the perfect weather. I finally went and woke Autumn up so she wouldn’t sleep all afternoon and then not go to bed at night. She wasn’t ready to wake up and was really cuddly and snuggly with Dad for a while.
It was a little windy outside, so Autumn wanted a blanket and moved from having Papa snuggle her to having Mimi snuggle her all wrapped up in a warm blankey. I hope she realizes when she’s older and can appreciate it, how loved she is. Dad needed to go get some new grill plates for our grill, so he took Autumn w/ him. They stopped at McDonald’s and got some french fries and then went to Home Depot (that’s their tradition when they go to Home Depot). Mom called him while they were gone and told him to bring home something for dinner since she didn’t have anything to make dinner with. He came home w/ some Taco Bell, so we ate that for dinner out on the patio.
After eating, we wanted to go over to the lot and check out the pretty flowers that were starting to bloom. Dad told Autumn to smell the pretty flowers, so she kept crouching down and bending herself in half to smell them.
If you look closely at this picture, you’ll notice she has some pollen on the tip of her nose from getting so close to the flowers! She cracks me up.
We were over by the old barn and I noticed this big huge vulture just perched on the corner, waiting for a mouse or other little rodent to go running by so it could snag some dinner. It doesn’t look like much just sitting there, but when it flew away it had a huge wing span.
Autumn loved checking out these beautiful purple irises. She kept sticking her nose in the pollen and smelling them. I’m glad she doesn’t have major allergies, otherwise we’d be in big trouble!
It’s not a visit to the lot w/out gathering and throwing sticks in the stream. The water is really low right now, but that didn’t stop her from tossing those sticks as far as she could. I love how Dad quietly & softly holds onto the bottom of her dress just in case she gets a little too overzealous and goes near the edge.
I LOVE this picture so much that I think I might get it printed off and frame it on the wall.
Autumn is obsessed w/ finding dandelion puffs, but she doesn’t like to blow on them unless someone helps her. Dad is a willing participant in helping her blow the little puffs into the wind.
The neighbors have these gorgeous trumpet flowers growing on their fence. Papa & Autumn had to stop and enjoy the pretty flowers together.
I think this might be my favorite picture of the day (I took 150 today). She had gone and picked one of the yellow flowers to take home to Mimi and was running to show it to me. We went back home after our excursion to the lot and watched Sherlock Holmes. Autumn & I left halfway through the movie b/c I didn’t realize it was already 9:30 at night and she was starting to act rotten, so I had to get her home and to bed. It was a very relaxed and laid back Saturday.
