Today I was proud of myself b/c I planned ahead and brought what I needed to for this awesome lunch. Usually I just have a frozen meal. But today I got to enjoy this awesome salad. It had romaine lettuce, strawberries, chicken, & poppy seed salad dressing. The only thing that could have made it better would be some roasted slivered almonds. Super tasty!
After work/school, we came home and made some dinner and ate. Then we needed to get out of the house an enjoy the weather and I didn’t want to have another “I have to go potty” incident at the park, so I suggested we go get frozen yogurt and Autumn was all for it as long as she could get the “pink ice cream w/ a pink spoon.” I make sure to fill 1/2 of the cup w/ pink ice cream and then the other 1/2 I fill w/ avocado ice cream that she doesn’t even touch. We make a good team.
After we ate our frozen yogurt, we went over to the little play area they have for kids so Autumn could run around. At first she decided she wanted to be a banker and kept coming in and out of the bank to hand me imaginary money.
Then she tried working at the gas station, but there weren’t many cars around that needed to be filled up by the cutest little grease monkey that ever was.
After that, it was off to work in the train station selling tickets to customers. I really do wonder what she’ll be when she grows up. There’s so many possibilities, and I can’t help but wonder how her life will turn out and what triumphs she’ll have and what trials she’ll have to face.
It’s sweet and innocent moments like this where she’s just sitting by a bench surrounded by beautiful flowers and the sunshine illuminating her hair that make me eternally thankful that I get the honor and privilege of being her Mom. I hope that I am always doing my best (even though sometimes I fall short) to be loving and patient and supportive and encouraging to her so that she can grow up to be an amazing person.
