Perfect Evening

We got a surprise this morning when Dad stopped by after seminary and brought Autumn & Nick & I some chocolate doughnuts from Max’s.  He used them as an object lesson about why kids don’t need to be baptized until they are 8.  He had called a few kids in the class and told them to bring a paperback novel to seminary.  He said during the lesson that everyone who brought a paperback novel could have a doughnut.  The other kids in the class that didn’t know to bring one (b/c he hadn’t told them) said it wasn’t fair.  He tied that into how young children who don’t know what they’re doing until the age of accountability (age 8) aren’t held accountable b/c it’s not fair and that the Atonement of Christ covers young children who die before the age of accountability.

Nate So much for not swimming for 30 minutes after eating.  We ate dinner and went straight to swimming.  Nate took a running jump from the area by Mom & Dad’s room and jumped over the hot tub and did an awesome canon ball into the pool.  The pool temperature was PERFECT today.  Just two days time made a big difference in the water temperature.

swim Autumn wanted us to throw her back and forth, so Nate & Dad threw her between the two of them.  She got some major height on some of the throws and was loving it and laughing like crazy.  She is really starting to scare me, b/c she is WAY too brave in the water and would try and swim away from the edge, and I had to watch her like a hawk.  July can’t get here soon enough for her to start those swim lessons.

IMG_5642 This is what our evening looked like.  The magnolia tree is in bloom and the moon is high in the sky w/ a line of clouds cutting diagonally across the blue sky.  Autumn & I came home so she could take a bath and get ready for bed.  Mom & Dad get new carpet installed in their bedroom tomorrow, and once the air conditioner gets fixed (it’s been broken for a few days), then they can move back into their room and Mom can’t wait!
