Today is Mom’s 34th (ahem) birthday. There are so many amazing things I love about her.
- This woman is TALENTED beyond belief. She excels at EVERYTHING she does. She can paint, sew, play the piano, decorate a house, is an phenomenal cook, and is a professional quilter just to name a few of her many talents.
- She GIVES so much. Her grandkids are so loved and spoiled beyond belief. She always makes sure that everyone is comfortable and happy (and well fed).
- She has this special “Hatch Gene” that a few other people in the Hatch family have where people are just drawn to her and love being around her.
- She is not just my Mother, she’s my BEST FRIEND. We can talk and talk and talk about anything. We make a great team in cooking and getting parties put together.
When I picked Autumn up from daycare, she said she wanted to go to “Donald’s”. I didn’t have anything planned for dinner and figured she’d have fun running around and playing, so that’s where she went. I don’t know why, but there were about 20 flies in there and Autumn kept freaking out when they would come near her.
When we got home, there was a package that came for Autumn. It was a super cute t-shirt and hair bow from Jason & Nicole. She was so excited that she wanted to wear them right away.
Mom & Dad went to Pei Wei for lunch and then went and saw two movies, b/c that’s what Mom wanted to do. After that, they came over to our house so we could have some pie and sing happy birthday. As you can see in the upper left hand corner, Autumn was sulking b/c we weren’t singing happy birthday to her! Three year olds are so narcissistic. We had Edward’s turtle pie, which is so out of this world delicious and decadent.
We spent the rest of the evening watching Wipe Out, Losing It With Jillian, and America’s Got Talent. Dad put some more lotion on Autumn’s nose and then it was her turn to put some on him. It was a fun evening and I’m so glad we got to celebrate Mom’s birthday today.

I never cease to be amazed at what a good dad Autumn has... (I am gagging right now, ps.)
Your mom is 34 and Lexie is 27. Man, I'm not good at math because that doesn't seem to work.
I agree we do have the BEST MOM ever! That is a cute picture of Autumn putting lotion on Dad's nose. =)
Ahhh....another very sweet tribute to you Mom!
