This morning Autumn woke up at 8:30 and promptly got out of bed and went in her room (she’s been sleeping in my room w/ me) to see if Ashley & Bianca were awake yet. They weren’t, but that soon changed. We all got up and had pancakes for breakfast & then got ready for the day. Miss B looked too cute in her little cowgirl outfit, and Autumn insisted on being in the bathroom w/ Ashley while she put on her makeup and got ready.
We hit the road and headed straight towards the Mecca of jewelry and purses and girly-ness…Sam Moons! I tried to keep Autumn occupied by having her help carry the basket and push the stroller. She was actually really good and when she started getting restless, we went and stood in one of the aisles and I let her dance and jump around to “Just Haven’t Met You Yet” by Michael Buble, which was playing in the store.
After we were all shopped out, we started to get hungry, so we went to Taco Cabana so Ashley could get a cabana bowl. She thought I was just taking a picture of Miss B in this, so that’s why she’s leaning to the side but I was sneaky and got her in there too. I am glad the cabana bowl was as good as she remembered it being.
After our tummies were sufficiently full, we went over to Mom & Dad’s to swim. Ashley noticed Mom’s Texas quilt on the wall and thought it would be a cute background to get a picture of Miss B in her little cowgirl outfit.
And, I think she was right. This is a cute backdrop for the most adorable baby! It makes my heart completely melt when Bianca gets this angelic little grin on her face. I think this means she is really a Texas girl at heart and that she & Ashley should move here permanently.
We all changed into our swimsuits and jumped in the pool. Miss B is just like her sister…she’s a little fish and loves being in the water. Her swimsuit is too cute and w/ her little hat it just makes her the most precious thing ever.
We were swimming around when I noticed something bobbing under the hot tub shelf where it spills over into the pool. I thought it was one of the kids’ toys but when I got closer I saw it was a dead bird! EWWW! But, the thought of bird flu in the water wasn’t enough to get us out (Dad assured us there’s so much chlorine in the water that there was no danger).
We weren’t the only ones that enjoyed being outside. Trace LOVES being in the backyard and was running all over and sniffing around in the grass. Next thing we know, he had climbed up on the waterfall and was perched there like a king looking down on his kingdom. He’s such a good dog.
Isn’t she just THE CUTEST thing ever? I love the cute little rolls on her legs and the expressions she makes.
We stayed outside and swam for quite a while b/c it was nice and cloudy so we weren’t getting sunburnt. When we finally got out, Miss B headed straight for the play kitchen to make us some soup. We were all surprised that she would crawl around on the tough pebbles outside, but they didn’t seem to bother her at all.
If I thought I was baby hungry before, it’s not even close to how baby hungry I am now. I could seriously just sit and hold Bianca and kiss her sweet little cheeks all day. She’s so little and sweet and makes me want to have a baby in the house so bad (but don’t worry, I learned my lesson the first time around and will do things the right way this time).
Papa came home from having Britt & Kerry time and the kids wanted him to come swim. They came up w/ a new game today where he would squat on the edge of the hot tub and they would come over and push him in. When he would swim back over to the hot tub he would ask, “Who pushed me in?” And they would start giggling and say, “We did,” and then they would run away and start laughing even harder. This went on for about 20 minutes and I’m sure they could have played it all day.
While they were outside playing, Miss B took a little nap. She looked like a little angel. I wanted to lean over and kiss her sweet little forehead, but I didn’t so I wouldn’t wake her up.
Dad took the kids on a little walk to put away all of the neighbors’ trash cans. When they got back, I was in the house talking to Ashley when I heard Autumn start screaming so I rushed outside to see what was going on. Dad said she was leaning over the edge of the pool to get a toy off the Shamu shelf when she fell face first onto the shelf and bit her lip. Luckily he said she was ok and wouldn’t need stitches, but he did prescribe a few push-up popsicles to help. Poor little bug!
Mom had gone to the store earlier and got home w/ the groceries and we all made dinner together. We made the bean/corn/avocado salsa that Maggie makes. We had to get a picture b/c all us Mamas were gathered around the bowl eating the salsa while holding and feeding our babies. We were laughing and saying we were like hungry lion mamas gathered around the feeding hole. We had a yummy dinner of salmon (I had chicken), grilled corn on the cob, and our super yummy salsa.
We were going to watch the Tooth Fairy (Mom had rented it from Red Box), but Autumn was being a stinker b/c she was completely exhausted, and Miss B needed to get ready to go to bed, so we came back to my house. Dad & Nate stopped by to drop off Mom’s old dishwasher (I love inheriting Mom’s hand-me-downs). We had to do a little show and tell of our awesome Sam Moons purchases. If you notice in this picture, Autumn & Miss B are wearing matching shorts. It just so happened that they both have the same outfit! What are the chances? And also notice how Miss B is holding a Texas flag wallet? I think she’s sending Ashley subliminal messages that she wants to move to Texas!
Liz called at about 9:30 to see if we were still awake b/c she wanted to stop by and meet Ashley & B. B was already asleep, but she got to meet Ashley & Ashley said she felt like she already knew Liz a little bit b/c of my blog. It made me so happy to have good friends of mine meet. Autumn (who was shockingly still awake after taking a 5 minute cat nap on the car ride home) wanted to do Liz’s hair. She put it in pigtails & then wanted someone to play w/ her hair, so Ashley did a cool princess side braid. Autumn’s poor nose is starting to look all red from where she scratched it in the pool. We put on Thumbelina hoping that Autumn would fall asleep so we could stay up and talk, but Autumn still did not fall asleep. Finally at 10:45 Ashley & I were too tired to keep our eyes open and called it a night.
