Wild Wednesday

I know this picture is super blurry, but I was taking it while driving (bad, I know)! It says “Go USA vs. Slovenia”! I guess they are playing in the World Cup on Friday. I don’t watch soccer at all, but from what I’ve heard, Slovenia is doing really well for being such a small no-name competitor and even though I LOVE the USA, it would be really cool if Slovenia won so they could get some recognition. And, I just found out the Saints there are having a big 20 year anniversary celebration of the Church being in Slovenia in October. I would give anything to be there to celebrate with the Slovene saints. That would be the experience of a lifetime. I miss Slovenia so much and am thankful every single day that I was able to serve my mission there.

Anyways, after work I went and got little poopsie and we went and met Mom at a little Mexican restaurant she wanted to try. Dad’s work has a Facebook page and every once in a while they will post random things and the one today said, “Where is the best place to get good Mexican food?” And someone made a comment about El Grande Burrito. So, we went to try it out. While we were waiting for our food, Autumn wanted to put on some “whipstick” so I let her use my tinted chapstick. She is so proud of herself and was smacking her lips to evenly distribute the chapstick.

We were thoroughly disappointed in the food at El Grande. It was not good at all, it was overpriced, and the restaurant was super hot and had NO air conditioning in the bathroom. Sorry, but I’ll never be going back there again. YUCK!

After we ate, we went over to Curt & Mary’s b/c Curt had called Mom earlier in the day and told her they had a TON of produce from their garden and to come get some. He wasn’t kidding! Look at all those yummy veggies (except for the tomatoes…I don’t like raw tomatoes). I took home some cucumbers, zucchini, yellow squash, and they even had some yellow cucumbers. Mary said she doesn’t know why they are yellow, but she is guessing that it’s b/c they grew right next to the yellow squash. I’ll have to try one and see if they taste any different than the green ones or not.

After we got our veggies,we went over to Mom & Dad’s for a little bit to watch SYTYCD, and then at 7:30 we headed over to Christine’s. She had called me earlier today asking if I had any extra time that I could come and work for her for a little bit and help her get caught up b/c she was so behind since the kids are out of school and are home now. I said sure, but that I would need to bring Autumn & she said not a problem. So, I went and helped her and while we were working, Curt came over to drop off one of Christine’s girls that had been playing w/ Jessie. Autumn was SO EXCITED to see Uncle Curt, b/c she had been sad that he wasn’t at his house when we had been there earlier to get veggies. She LOVES her Uncle Curt!

Christine and I were working away and I didn’t even notice, but it was already 10:00! Time flies when you’re busy working and having fun. I went to get Autumn so we could go home and found her coloring w/ Mason. She also showed me that Hailey had painted her fingernails a pretty bright blue color. She had a blast playing w/ them and didn’t want to leave, but we had to b/c it was so late and I didn’t want her to be a bear in the morning. We got home and went straight to bed. It was a fun day!
