You Will Be Missed, Jessica

This morning Autumn & I got up and I took her to daycare to help keep her on a schedule and b/c I had a root canal later on in the day and didn’t know how long it would take and I didn’t know what Mom & Dad’s plans were and if they could watch her or not. Anyways, after I dropped her off I went over to Mom & Dad’s to see what was going on over there.

Mom said they got a call at 12:30 am with some bad news. I immediately thought that something bad had happened to Nate at Basic Training, but Mom said it wasn’t about Nate. Then I thought it might have been about Rufio b/c she has been having some health problems lately. But Mom said it wasn’t about her either. It was about my cousin, Jessica (click HERE to see obituary). She had died very suddenly last night and it’s especially sad b/c she was going to be 36 tomorrow. She has a little girl who’s 11 and a little boy who’s 8. My heart breaks for them and for the rest of the family. Jessica was always so beautiful and was an EXCELLENT photographer. She will be greatly missed.

Pam & Dave came and got their chihuahuas this morning. Autumn was sad when we got home tonight and they weren’t here. But, we had a little puppy visitor over at Mom & Dad’s that looked like Emma’s twin (except for the white paws). At first glance, you would think it is Emma. The dog’s name was Tinkerbell and she belongs to Jeff, who is my Mom’s best friend b/c he came to fix the A/C unit. But, come to find out, the whole A/C unit has to be replaced and he can’t fix it until Wednesday, so we’ll have to live w/ the heat and humidity for a few more days.

I had hoped to spend some time w/ Mou this morning, but he stayed up until 6 am and slept until 3 pm! At 2:0o, I went to my dentist appointment to see about getting a root canal done b/c my tooth chipped off and was hurting. Well, come to find out, I need 2 root canals and since it’s a holiday today, the insurance office was closed so they couldn’t find out how much my insurance would cover. They said w/out insurance it was going to be $4,013!!! I said we’d better wait until tomorrow and see what insurance was going to pay before doing anything just in case nothing was covered. It is so cool how they do x-rays now. It’s just a little wand thing you hold in your mouth and they don’t use radiation anymore so you don’t have to wear that heavy jacket over you. The coolest part was that the x-rays showed up on the computer screen right away. Technology is amazing!

So, since my dentist visit was only about 15 minutes, I stopped and got Autumn on the way home. We all hung out in the guest room b/c it was air conditioned in there. Andrew was being super cute and cuddly w/ Lexie.

Autumn was being super cute and cuddly w/ Mom b/c Mom had cheetos and was sharing them. Emma wanted in on the cheeto action too! I think Autumn has her “posed” smile down…what do you think?

When Mou finally woke up, we all decided it was too dang hot inside, so we went outside to swim and play. After swimming for a few hours, Mom ordered Chinese food for dinner so we got out and ate and then I took Autumn over to her first day of swim lessons w/ Ms. Cis. We took Andrew too, to see if he could get into swim lessons w/ Autumn but Ms. Cis didn’t have an opening during Autumn’s time slot but they got him into the 4:10 slot for tomorrow and the next 2 weeks.

After Autumn’s swim lessons, we came home and swam a little bit more and then it was time for me to take Mou home. Autumn didn’t want to come w/ me, she wanted to stay and play w/ Drew & Papa. We stopped by his sister’s house to say hi to his family. They are such wonderful people and I love them so much. I think it’s cool that his sister & Mom have the same name (Seini) just like my Mom & I do. It was so good to see them again and chat for a little bit. I dropped Mou off at his apartment and headed home to get Autumn so we could come home and go to bed.
