I am a naughty Mom & let Autumn have 2 brownies for breakfast. We have been out of cereal for a few days and I haven’t gone to the store to get more and they brownies were sitting on the counter from when I made them last night and she wanted one for breakfast and I thought, “Sure. Why not?” She thought she had won the lottery when I told her she could have a brownie for breakfast.
After work/school, we went over to Dad’s house to have dinner. While we were eating dinner, a big storm rolled in and so we decided to eat our dessert (a cut up chilled sweet watermelon) out on the patio so we could enjoy the cooler weather (80 degrees instead of 100 degrees). There was a flash of lighting and 1 second later a HUGE clap of thunder that made us all stop and say, “WOW!” Dad was showing Autumn how to spit out her watermelon seeds on her napkin. But, she didn’t quite get the grip of how to do it and kept spitting 1/2 her bite of watermelon onto the napkin.
It was POURING rain, like it does during summer Texas thunder storms. Poor Emma had to go potty so bad that she braved the rainy weather to go potty on the grass. She hurried out there and came running back and was soaked. We laughed b/c she looked like a wet drowned rat.
After we finished our watermelon and the rain went away, Autumn slowly made her way over to the pool and just stuck her feet in. Then next thing we know, she’s gotten her pants and shirt and hair all wet. She thought she was in trouble when I told her to look at me, but it was just so I could take her picture.
We had to rush home so I could get my Primary manual and took it over to Karri. She’s going to teach my class for me this Sunday b/c we’ll be in San Antonio for Nate’s graduation from Air Force Basic Training (AFBT). I got Autumn to bed (around 8:30) and then left to go shopping for a swimsuit. All the ones I have are old and falling apart and I figured since it’s the middle of August there might be some good sales. I went to Ross and didn’t find a swimsuit, but I found an ADORABLE jacket and shirt. Usually I would get them, but for some reason I just had a feeling to put them back and not get them, so I put them back and walked out of Ross without buying anything! That’s the first (and probably only) time that’s ever happened.
Since I still needed a swimsuit and it was 9:30 by this time, I went to WalMart since I knew they’d be open. I found a few swimsuits that I took to the dressing room to try on. I was in there trying them on when I looked up and saw a little red blinking light and wondered what it was. I stared at it for a second and it quit blinking! I freaked out thinking it was a security video and here I am all naked in the dressing room b/c I’m trying on swimsuits! So, I hurried and grabbed my shirt and covered it up. Next thing I know, the lights around the mirror in the dressing room went off and I was standing there in the dark. Come to find out, that red blinking light was a motion sensor for the lights, not a security camera (thank goodness)!
I have gained a little weight lately and haven’t really noticed it until tonight when I was trying on those swimsuits. OH MY GOODNESS!!! This baby girls has GOT to lose some weight. I think I haven’t noticed the small weight gain b/c I’ve got clothes that are flattering and hide the parts of my body that I don’t like. But, there’s NO hiding imperfections in a swimsuit. So, I’ll have to come up with a plan to start eating better and getting in a little exercise.
Anyways, I found a swimsuit and then needed to find a car plug/charger for the DVD so I went over to the electronics section. I found what I needed, and it just happens to be across from the children’s section, so I wandered over there to the clearance rack. I found a bunch of cute shirts & skorts for Autumn that were only $2 or $3 each! I went a size up from what she’s wearing now so that she can grow into them. I was able to get her all the clothes above for a steal of a deal. I am just a frugal Mom that refuses to spend $10 a shirt. I was so happy w/ all of my great finds. I stopped and got a big bottle of the WalMart brand of Mt. Dew and drank a bunch of it in the car on the way home. I needed a caffeine rush to finish the loads of laundry I had, clean the house, pack, and get everything ready for our trip tomorrow. I finally climbed in bed and fell asleep at 1:30. I’m excited for our little getaway to San Antonio.

There's a store I love called Crazy 8. It's for kids and they are owned by Gymboree. They have really good sales & they have a website too so you can check them out for good prices on clearance stuff!
