On the way home from work, Mom called and said to meet her & Dad at Cheddar’s for dinner. Poor Dad got the flu last night and hasn’t been feeling good all day, but he still came and just ordered a sandwich so it would be easy on his stomach. Mom got the Asian chicken salad and it is SO SCRUMPTIOUS and has the perfect amount of flavor. I know I say this all the time, but I really am blessed beyond belief to have them as my parents. They are so good to Autumn & I.
I didn’t plan this on purpose, but both Autumn & I were wearing purple. Aunt Lexie & Rufio would love that b/c purple is their favorite color. A lot of people say they see a lot of me in Autumn, and I’m starting to see it a little bit more every day.
After we ate, we went to Mom & Dad’s house for a while. Pam & Dave are in town b/c Dave’s Mom turned 89 and they came up to celebrate w/ her. They left their 3 Chihuahuas at our house, and this one was the dog we got at the same time as Emma. The day we brought him home, this is exactly where he spent all his time…on Mom’s shoulder. So it’s funny that all these years later that he would still climb right up to his old spot.
While we were at Cheddar’s, Dad said he wanted to teach Autumn how to start dribbling a basketball so we can take advantage of her height. So, when we got home he took her outside and they practiced throwing and catching the basketball. Autumn was super good at throwing it, but not so much at catching it. But, she had a good time and that’s what matters most. I hope she has more coordination than I did.
I thought she had gotten over covering up her dolls w/ blankets, and she didn’t for a few weeks but now she’s back to doing it again. It was funny b/c she found every baby blanket she could along w/ all of Mom’s dish towels and layered them all on top of the dogs’ bed. Then, she surprised us all by climbing into the bed and covering herself up! What a silly little bug (or should I say puppy)?
We left at 8:15 to go over to Decker’s for our monthly get together. Kylie & Kenzie are SO GREAT at playing w/ Autumn & keeping her occupied so I can enjoy talking and laughing w/ the other ladies. They played games & played w/ toys & colored and just had a blast.
While they did that, we went upstairs and had a little spiritual thought and then played Band Hero. We took turns singing, playing the drums, and playing the guitar. We were all laughing so hard and just being wild & crazy. It was so much fun and I am glad Rhonda was added to our group. I always love being around these fun and fabulous women.
I was all caught up in playing the game when Autumn & Kenzie & Kylie came into the room and were laughing like crazy. Those two girls had let Autumn put stickers all over them, even on their faces. She thought that was the greatest thing in the whole world and they thought it was pretty funny, too. I noticed it was already 9:30 and that I needed to get Autumn home. She did NOT want to go home and threw a HUGE fit. I’m talking about kicking, screaming, and when I finally got her outside and in the car she started banging her head against the back of her car seat. I thought for sure that Karri’s neighbors were going to come outside and see what little girl was being kidnapped b/c Autumn was screaming so loud. I finally got her home and got her in bed. I had to keep reminding myself not to get mad or frustrated w/ her b/c it was my own fault for keeping her out so late.
