Mom called me at work today and said she wanted to take Autumn & I out to dinner b/c she wanted to use a coupon she had for $4.99 at Souper Salad. We were in the mood for some fresh & healthy food so it totally hit the spot. We were talking about how $4.99 is such a great deal b/c you spend at least that much on a burger, fries and a drink somewhere else. And Souper Salad is a buffet w/ lots of choices and good food. Autumn & I got there a little bit before Mom, so we sat in the car and waited for her to get there. Autumn was so happy that she got to sit in the front seat and that she had her doll with her. I got a big huge salad that tasted so good! So eating at Souper Salad was the 1st good thing that happened this evening.
After stuffing ourselves, we were sitting and talking and I told Mom that we should go see Tangled b/c I’ve heard such good things about it. We checked the show times really quick and were able to make the 7:00 show. I kept trying to get a picture of Autumn & I together, but she was too interested in who was walking into the theater that she would look away right as the picture would take, so this is the best one we got.
The movie was DARLING & ADORABLE! A definite one to buy when it comes out on video. Mom had gone shopping earlier in the day and stopped at Kid to Kid and got some cute things for Autumn. This new leopard print jacket is one of them and Autumn was lovin’ it. So getting new clothes and seeing Tangled was the 2nd good thing that happened this evening.
After the movie, we went over to Mom’s car to get Autumn’s new clothes so we could take them home w/ us. I opened the door just a little bit and it was windy and the wind closed the door right on Autumn’s little fingers! I let out a scream and hurried to open the door. She was bawling and was so upset. I think it scared her more than anything, but she couldn’t stop crying. We went out to the clinic so I could get a flu shot (they had some left over) and a popsicle from Papa made the hurt fingers feel all better. So Autumn getting her fingers shut in the car door was the 1st bad thing that happened this evening.
I didn’t think Autumn was going to get a flu shot but Dad said b/c they had some left over she should get one. So, we took her in a room and Dad, the nurse, and I had to hold her down so he could give her a shot in the thigh (2nd bad thing that happened this evening). She was NOT happy and kicked and screamed but 15 seconds after it was over (and she got another popsicle) she was just fine.
It also helped when Papa left the room and then came back w/ 7 different types of mini candy bars for her to choose from to help ease the pain! What a spoiled and loved little girl! It was already 9:30 by this time, and I knew I needed to get her home and in bed before she turned into cranky/sleepy Autumn. We got home and she had a melt down b/c I wouldn’t let her have a brownie before bed. I finally got her calmed down enough for me to brush her teeth, say our prayers, and sing her a song.
She was out in just a few minutes and so I decided to go on a walk b/c it was so nice and cool outside (don't worry, Nick was home). It was so nice to go on a brisk walk/jog and just listen to my music and enjoy the cool breeze. Also, a lot of the houses around the duck ponds have their Christmas lights up, which makes it even more fun. I really need to start going on night walks more often.
