Harvest Helper

IMG_3284 Today after work, we went over to Mom & Dad’s &  Dad was outside working in the yard.  Autumn of course wanted to go and see what he was doing.  He was raking leaves and said he needed a helper to squish the leaves down into the bag.  At first she didn’t want to get in, but when I pretended like I was looking for her and couldn’t find her she wanted to jump in.

IMG_3285 She scrunched down all the leaves and then went off to play for a little bit.  She came back and watched Dad put his leg in the bag to srunch down the leaves again and as soon as he had his back turned, she wanted to try.  It amazes me how observant kids are and how they soak up things that are around them like little sponges.

IMG_3286 While Dad finished raking the leaves, Autumn decided to be a daredevil and walk around the stones on the edge of this raised part of the yard.  She thought she was hot stuff and kept saying, “Look at me, Mama!  I do it all by myself.”

IMG_3290After loading all the leaves into the back of the cart on the tractor, it was off to the lot to dump them.  Autumn was so happy when Dad let her drive the lawn mower over to the lot.  After they were done, they came inside and we had a yummy dinner of roast, carrots, potatoes, & gravy.  Mom was going to make that for dinner yesterday but didn’t end up doing it, so she made it tonight.  It was super scrumptious.  Then we spent the rest of the evening relaxing & watching Monday night football.

I can’t even believe that it is already November!  Where did this year go?  Before I can blink, it will be 2011!
