For our Black Friday, we slept in until 8:30 and just had a leisurely morning. Dad had to go into work and put on his Batman scrub top just for Andrew b/c Andrew was dressed up as Batman for something later on in the day. Papa & Andrew are such good buddies.
I was bound and determined to finish the puzzle before we had to leave at noon. Andrew was trying to “help” me and when I found where a piece would go, I’d let him push it into place.
At 12:00, we all got dressed really fast and then rushed over to my house so Autumn could put on her costume (Lexie had put curlers in her hair earlier and I did her make up at Mom & Dad’s) so we could go to the Princess Party. Isn’t this the cutest Snow White & Batman you’ve ever seen?
We got there a little early and I thought Lexie looked awesome all dressed up in her Snow White costume while wearing her big purple diva sunglasses. I’ve never seen such a stylish Snow White before…that is until Autumn wanted to wear the sunglasses and carry around Lexie’s purse!
Autumn was so excited to get a chance to dress up again and I’m so happy we are able to do fun things like this. We were outside waiting for them to open the doors and it was so cold and windy that they let us wait in the lobby area for a few minutes until it was time to go in the building.
When I found out that Disney On Ice: Princess Wishes was coming to town, I looked into getting tickets but Dad said he knew someone that might be able to get us tickets, and they HOOKED US UP!!! We were able to go to a meet & greet before the ice skating show. They had a spread of huge cookies, soft pretzels, popcorn, chips & salsa, a nice veggie tray and some drinks.
While we waited for the princesses to show up, the Radio Disney people played games where they would play part of a Disney song and the kids had to guess what movie that song was from. It was a lot of fun.
Finally it was time for the princesses to show up. There was only one princess that came, but we were glad it was Snow White b/c that’s who Autumn & Lexie were dressed up as. Andrew was really happy that he got to go stand by her too and said he was there to protect her! LOL!
After she left, they had more games for the kids. They had them try and use some hula hoops, which was funny to watch b/c most of the kids were really little and didn’t have a clue as to how to hula hoop. But, the kids didn’t care and were having a great time.
Next, they had the kids do a dance to a song that tells them what to do (like jump to the left, jump to the right, turn around and cha cha cha). They were really energetic and made it a lot of fun for the kids.
After that, they had all the kids sit down on the carpet so they could have a dancing contest with 3 of the Mom’s.
They asked Lexie to be one of the Mom’s and I thought they were going to have them dance all at once but they had each Mom dance by herself for about 45 seconds. Lexie got up there and went ALL OUT and was a dancing diva. The kids LOVED it! After all 3 Mom’s had danced, they had us cheer for who we liked the best and Lexie won by a landslide.
After an hour of partying, it was time to go back downstairs so we could find our seats for the show. I love this picture of my little princess and I.
We went and found our seats and were just talking and waiting for the show to start when this lady across the aisle from us came over with her friend and asked if she could get a picture w/ Lexie & the kids. They thought it was so cute that Andrew was dressed up as Batman and that Lexie was dressed up, too. They asked me why I wasn’t dressed up and I said I was dressed up as the photographer! LOL!
I had read online that a lot of little girls come dressed in princess costumes, so that’s why we had Autumn dress up and then we didn’t want Andrew to feel left out so we had him dress up too and Lexie had the Snow White costume from forever ago and we thought it would be exciting for her to dress up, too.
Lexie was the only Mom I saw that was dressed up. I did notice this grandpa across the arena that was dressed up as the king’s advisor on Cinderella so he could match his granddaughter, which I thought was too precious. During intermission, Lexie took Andrew to the bathroom and while she was outside of the men’s room waiting for him to come out, she got swarmed by a group of people that wanted their picture w/ her. They didn’t have any princesses walking around for people to take pictures with, so Lexie was more than happy to do it. It was scary at one point, b/c she couldn’t see Andrew but she found him and brought him back to Autumn and I and then finished taking pictures w/ the girls until it was time for the show to start again.
Here are a few of the pictures from the show. I thought the skating was just going to be OK, but it was amazing and they had awesome lifts and tricks and flips. Tinker Bell was kind of like the MC and would come out in between each scene. They had Jasmine then Snow White, Belle, Ariel, Mulan, Sleeping Beauty, & Cinderella. It was 2 hours long and was quite the show.
During the Sleeping Beauty part, they had this big huge dragon come out on the stage, and it looked really cool b/c it was fluorescent.
The dragon at one point breathed fire and part of the ice was on fire. It was really cool and Autumn loved it and was even roaring back at the dragon. Andrew, though, was really scared and hid under Lexie’s coat. I’m glad I had read online about it and was able to warn Lexie about it so she could make sure Andrew wasn’t too scared and knew what was coming and when.
Here’s all the Disney princesses that skated at the end for the finale.
Here’s the final scene with everyone skating around Tinker Bell in Cinderella’s carriage. It was a phenomenal show and I kept looking at Autumn to see if she was enjoying herself and she was just enthralled with everything that was going on and loved every second of it.
Here’s our 2 Snow Whites after the show. It was 2 hours long and even Andrew liked it. I am so thankful that Dad was able to get us the hook up for the meet & greet before and then good seats. The kids were so happy w/ the little gift bags they got and the free posters. Andrew got a Toy Story one and Autumn got a Tinker Bell one.
We got home at 4:30 and the kids wanted to run around after sitting for so long. They were also hungry, so they asked for some rolls and yogurt. Once we got home, Mom told us she had some fun news…they had just gotten 6 free tickets to the Dallas Stars hockey game and wanted to know if Nick & Lexie & Jon & I wanted them. Um….HECK YEAH!!!
