Day 3 Of Secret Santa

IMG_9978 This morning when I went to do Autumn’s hair, she didn’t want me to mess up the “waves” she had in her hair from it being braided yesterday.  So, I put her hair in pigtails so she could still see the “waves.”  I of course had to add some bows to make a cute girl even cuter and she looked so adorable.  I haven’t done pigtails in a long time b/c I thought she was too grown up for them and wouldn’t want them, but I was wrong.  She loved them and they made her look younger, which is great by me, b/c she is growing up way too fast for me!

IMG_9979After work/school today, we went over to Mom & Dad’s and Mom had planned on making Chicken Wild Rice for dinner, but didn’t have some of the ingredients so she made grilled cheese sandwiches instead.  I don’t know how she does it, but her sandwiches are always SO GOOD and are super crispy and perfectly browned on the outside but yummy on the inside…all while using cheap white bread.  We are spoiled!

At 7:30, we left and I took Autumn home and put on Thumbelina for her so I could go to my Single Adult meeting.  We have them once every other month on the 3rd Wednesday.  I had forgotten about it until Pete reminded me on Sunday at the fireside.  I’m glad he did, b/c I had planned on going to the Richardson Stake Single Adult temple night and would have missed the meeting.  It went until 9:30 and I rushed home to see if Nick had put Autumn to bed or not.

She wasn’t asleep yet, but was just laying in on the floor in his bedroom watching him play a video game.  We went to the porch to see if our Secret Santa had stopped by and they had.  This is what the note said:

Night 3 arrives, but we are not in France,
And three French hens don’t come by chance.
So, French fries are what you can get,
With this McDonald’s gift certificate!

I was only expecting a $5 gift certificate, but it had $10 on it!  WOO HOO!  That will buy us a ton of French fries.  I got Autumn to bed after we opened our gift and then worked on getting all the printed off pages of Mom’s cookbook put into plastic sheets while watching TV.  I finally called it a night and went to bed.
