Tuesday Treats

IMG_9963 Today after work/school, we came home instead of going over to Mom & Dad’s so I could make this dessert to take to the Relief Society Christmas party tonight.  It’s the Easiest & Yummiest Fruit Salad.  I was getting something in my room and came into the kitchen to find that Autumn had pulled her step stool up to the counter and had gotten herself a spoon and was helping herself to some of the fruit salad.  I’m glad she has good taste like her Mom.  Notice that she’s wearing the 2 pins from Grandma Johnson.  She’s so independent and sometimes it makes me nuts and sometimes it makes me so proud to be her Mama.

IMG_9966 I took her with me and she went and played in the nursery.  I always appreciate it so much when they provide babysitting for activities.  They had these flannel blankets for us to work on as a service project.  They had been cut in strips around the edges and instead of tying them in knots, which is the way I’ve seen it done before, they had a little hole at the top of each strip and we pushed the strip down through the hole to secure it.  It was super fast and left a cool looking design around the edges.

IMG_9967 Everyone was asked to bring something to share and we ended up w/ a TON of desserts and appetizers.  We even had some punch and wassel to enjoy.  One lady brought peanut butter rice crispies in chocolate shells that she had made.  Those were so rich & divine.  That chocolate trifle (behind the white table center piece) was positively sinful b/c it was so good!

IMG_9972 After finishing our blankets and eating, they had an ornament exchange.  I hadn’t brought one, but they were awesome and had extras for those who didn’t.  However, I didn’t stay for it b/c it was already 8:30 by this point and I needed to get Autumn home & in bed so she wouldn’t be a grouch tomorrow.  From what I heard, the ornament exchange was a lot of fun.

IMG_9974 When we got home, this cute Santa Claus bag was on our doorstep.  Inside were some Turtle treats and Dove chocolates.  Here is the cute note that came with it:

Tonight we have turtles & doves coming your way.
Eat all of the chocolate that you may.
Because in your family there is more than just you,
We’ve left on your doorstep more than a few.

This glad Christmas season is so full of fun.
We’re happy to share with your family, then run.
How grateful we are that you’re playing our game.
You’ll now find that Christmas won’t be the same.

I am so thankful for whoever is doing the 12 Days of Christmas to us.  I have a few ideas of who I think it could be.  I hope they’ll let us know who they are on the final day so I can make sure to tell them a HUGE THANK YOU!

I got Autumn to bed and then watched the Biggest Loser Finale.  I am so glad that Ada got picked to be in the final three.  I have to admit that I was a little surprised that more people didn’t lose more weight.  Branden didn’t look any different to me than when he left the ranch.  I’m thrilled that Mark won the at home prize and that Patrick won over all.
