Old & New Friends

IMG_3412 This morning we got a fun surprise b/c Dad brought us left over doughnuts from seminary.  We love it when we get doughnuts, especially Autumn.

IMG_3414 I had to drop her off early at daycare b/c I had to be to a meeting at 9:00 out by the airport.  Dad let me borrow the Durango b/c I don’t have a toll tag but the Durango does.  There was this huge Christmas tree w/ tons of presents under it in the lobby of the hotel.  The training was really good b/c Rodney Webb, the trainer was very charismatic and had some really good things to say.

IMG_3415 During our lunch break, I went and picked up Mou since the training was just a few miles from where he lives.  We went to a little hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurant.  As you can see, the portions were huge (especially the drinks).  I couldn’t even finish all of mine.

IMG_3417 Then we went and got ice cream at Braum’s.  I got eggnog and peppermint chocolate chip.  It was SO GOOD, and fairly cheap.  I’ll have to go to Braum’s more often b/c I didn’t realize it was so good.  After that, I dropped Mou off at work b/c it was really close and then I went back to the training.  It was so good to see Mou again and talk about what’s been going on in each other’s lives.

IMG_3420Mom went and picked up Autumn for me b/c traffic was bad and I wasn’t going to make it back from the training in time.  We had ham party roll ups for dinner and I forget how good they are.  I definitely need to make them more often.  We also made some cheese balls to take around to the neighbors.  We had to adjust the recipe a little bit b/c 1 Tbs of seasoned salt was too much.

The Marshalls came over b/c their granddaughter had a skin rash they needed Dad to look at.  It was so good to see them again & Autumn loved having a new friend.  After Dad looked at Skylar, Autumn took her hand and they went into Mom & Dad’s room to watch Dora The Explorer together.  I love that kids make friends so easily b/c they don’t have the prejudices and pre conceived notions that we seem to develop as we get older.

It was a fun-filled day and I’m up too late watching What Not To Wear, especially since I’ve got a big day coming up tomorrow with the big nativity display at the church.
