I got off work at 3:30 today b/c my boss called and said if it was slow to just go home. SCORE! So, I took that extra hour for myself and went and filled the car up w/ gas and then went and did a little retail therapy. I stopped at the new $1 Jewelry store, which is 5 minutes from my house instead of driving to the other one which is 15 minutes away. I got this ring that just screamed my name when I saw it and these cute sunglasses that have a cool Island style type flower pattern painted on the side. I also got a new headband and bow for Autumn.
I went and got Autumn from college and we went over to Mom & Dad’s house. We had a little snack and then Mom & I watched the last part of Oprah and a few other shows Mom had recorded about the royal wedding. I think Kate’s dress was so elegant and timeless and I really hope they have a wonderful and long lasting marriage. It was nice and cool outside and Autumn wanted to go out in the garden to see if there were any peas that needed to be picked.
She found a whole handful. Her hair was starting to come out of it’s elastics and looks all ski-whomp-us. I love this sweet and innocent little smile I was able to capture. She’s such a love bug and I’m so thankful Dad has a garden to she can learn about plants and can appreciate good/fresh produce from the garden.
We watched some taped episodes of Chopped and then called Nick to see if he wanted to meet us at McD’s for dinner. I had some coupons, so we used those. They have a new strawberry/lemonade slush drink that we wanted to try. I LOVE me some sugar, but this was drinking straight up strawberry syrup. It was even too much for me, so Nick drank it. I told him to smile and he gave me creepy eyes instead.
We stayed at McD’s for about an hour so Autumn could run around and play. Then we went back to Mom & Dad’s house. We were sitting and watching TV when we kept hearing this noise that sounded like the warning signal on TV when there is severe weather. We went outside to check it out and found 2 animals on the ledge of the hot tub/pool.
Hiding right beneath the white rock that Nick has his hand on in the above picture, was a little mouse! Nick was able to catch it and I told him to go throw it in the garbage but he went and let it go in the bushes by Mom & Dad’s window.
But, the culprit that was making the awful sound was this little frog! He would push his throat out like that and make the horrible sound every 10-15 seconds. I guess he was trying to woo a female or something, but it was an annoying sound. Nick was able to catch the frog before it jumped into the pool to get away. He was going to put it in the bushes too, but I told him that would keep Mom & Dad awake all night and to go put it over on the lot. He just went and let it go in the neighbor’s yard.
We went back to watching TV and about 20 minutes later we heard the frog again!!! He had hopped back over and was in the same spot. We just turned up the TV louder to try and drown it out. I didn’t realize it, but it was already 10:45! So, Autumn & I just spent the night at Mom & Dad’s b/c I was too tired to drive home.
