Nature Nuts

IMG_2360 I am so obsessed w/ this plant that I brought my nice camera w/ me to work today and after work/school, Autumn & I went to Mom & Dad’s and walked over to take more pictures.  This time we stayed off the busy road and took pictures of the plant from the other side to be safer.

IMG_2370 Love it.

IMG_2377 Love it even more.

IMG_2380 My favorite b/c of the dichotomy of how the plant is so pointy and sharp, yet ends up being so round and fluffy and a completely different color.  It’s a good reminder that people and things and situations can change.

IMG_2389 We walked back to the house and stopped in an empty lot that had wild flowers growing in it.  I forgot that I had the camera set on manual and the picture ended up being too bright, but I still like it.

IMG_2395 We picked a few wild flowers to take home to Mimi.  On the walk home, we saw Papa out in the commons median area and he was weeding and pruning some bushes.  He saw us and drove over to us on the riding lawnmower and gave Autumn a ride back to the house.  I raced them and it was a tie.

P1020255 While Autumn & I were on our nature walk, Liz called and asked if Autumn & I wanted to go to dinner at Cheddars w/ her and Liberty.  I’d never pass up a chance to eat at Cheddars or to hang out w/ L&L so Autumn & I went over and met them there.  Liz was having pregnancy cravings for chicken fried steak.  Autumn & I shared an Asian chicken salad and it was so good.  Of course we had to have a cookie monster for dessert.  As usual, it was great spending time w/ them.

IMG_2407After we left, Autumn & I came home and got some old bagels and took them over to the ponds to feed them to the ducks.  It was actually chilly tonight so we didn’t stay out there long, especially b/c it was starting to get dark.  We walked over to the end of the ponds and Autumn wanted me to chase her around while we stayed on the red bricks.

We came home and I put Autumn to bed and then ended up watching Steel Magnolias b/c I was in the mood for a funny chick flick.  That’s one of the best chick flicks ever b/c it has SO MANY good one-liners.  After it was over, Nick & I watched 2 episodes of Whose Line Is It Anyway and laughed and laughed and laughed.  I need to quit staying up so late, but I can’t help it b/c that show is so stinkin’ funny.
