Reconnecting

P1020197Autumn’s day care called me yesterday and said Autumn woke up early from her nap and started crying and asking for me and saying her tummy hurt.  They took her temperature and it was just a low grade temp so I didn’t have to go pick her up but they just wanted me to know.  She was really feverish yesterday after I picked her up so I kept giving her Tylenol and then Motrin every 4 hours.  She had a rough night and had a fever when we woke up today so I took her over to Mom & Dad’s.  They were wonderful and watched her for me while I worked.  Mom said they went to McDonald’s and she knew Autumn was sick b/c she hardly ate anything and didn’t want to go play on the play ground.  I went to Mom & Dads house after work and we had dinner and watched a little TV and then I had to run home and change into a skirt to go to a Stake Single Adult meeting.  This gorgeous Easter lily was sitting on the doorstep and was from Karri Decker.  It smells so good and I can smell it from across the room.

P1020200I went to my meeting at 7:00 and then went to get Autumn.  We went upstairs and got the Easter eggs out of the attic storage and took them home.  We filled them w/ some old Halloween candy I had so Autumn can take them to college tomorrow for an Easter egg hunt.  She had such a good time filling the eggs.

P1020199Earlier today, I was able to chat online for just a minute w/ my cousins Josh & Cade.  They were going to be hanging out together tonight and I am SO JEALOUS b/c they are both so much fun and I wished I could have been there to talk and laugh w/ them.  It made me realize how fortunate I am to not only be close to and love my immediate family, but to also know and love my extended family.

Today I was also looking though my yearbook and was able to find some people from high school on Facebook.  It was great to go back and relive those memories and reconnect w/ those people that used to be such a big part of my life.

During our SA meeting, Pres. Jones was talking about what we can do to focus on and increase our personal ministry.  What are things that we do to help others that aren’t part of our calling?  I instantly thought of Dad and how much he does for others w/ out anyone knowing.  He goes around and takes all of the neighbor’s trash cans from the street back to their houses after the trash has been picked up.  He takes drinks out to the trash truck drivers.  He found out where a couple that was celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary was buying their cake from and went and paid for it so that when they picked it up the night of the party it was anonymously paid for.  He goes and plants flowers and cleans up the flowerbeds at the church.  He mowed the neighbor’s yard.  He goes to the temple once a week.  I can’t even count how many times he has had people come over to the house to give them free medical help.  He does free physicals for Scouts and guys getting ready to go on missions.  There is just a huge list of all the wonderful things he does for others.  I need to do more to increase my personal ministry.
