Since Autumn had requested waffles last night, Papa woke up early to make them for her. Dad had Phantom of the Opera playing on the CD player and Autumn came out of the back room and looked around and asked who was singing! LOL! So, we enjoyed our Texas waffles while listening to Phantom. I had to call Nate & sing this to him, “The Phantom of the Opera is there inside your mind.” He just laughed when I sang that to him as soon as he answered the phone b/c he used to sing that on the playground all the time when he was a little kid.
Autumn & I came home and got ready for church, and it was pretty eventful in sacrament meeting. Mom had given Autumn a few pieces of gum last night but told her she had to wait and chew them a church b/c Mom hates chewed up gum. I didn’t bring it up, but Autumn sure didn’t forget and asked about her gum as soon as we got there. I gave it to her and part way through the meeting she laid face down on the bench while I scratched her back. She sat up and sheepishly said, “Look, Mama.” She had gotten her gum stuck in her hair! Luckily it was right in the front and b/c I obviously didn’t have any peanut butter, I just had to cut it out right there in the middle of sacrament meeting. I told her she can be like Rapunzel and just have one strand of short hair. Luckily, it’s not very noticeable but she will not be having gum again in a long time!
Today the talks were about the restoration of the priesthood, so they had all the men come up and sing Ye Elders of Israel. I don’t know why, but all of a sudden I got all emotional and got teary eyed. It was just so touching to see all these great men singing together. It was funny b/c when they first went up on the stand, a bunch of babies & little kids started to cry b/c they wanted their Daddies and weren’t happy they got left w/ their Moms.
We got home from church and Autumn went straight into her room to change her clothes. She came out wearing her pink leotard swimsuit. I was surprised it still fit b/c it was from last year, but she was so happy to be wearing it. She asked me to put on some music so she could dance around. I should look into putting her into some dance classes. We had lunch and then Mom was showing us some cool stuff on the iPad.
Mom left to go home and Autumn & I followed after a few hours. Dad got home from work and we were going to start the grill to have corn on the cob and Ollie North chicken when we noticed this little lizard hanging on for dear life, upside down, to the handle!
While the grill was heating up, Autumn & Dad went out to the garden to water the plants (Autumn’s favorite thing to do lately). We were surprised to see that our green been plant had seemingly sprouted overnight and there were a bunch of green beans that were ready to be picked.
Mom had gotten more food than the 4 of us could eat, so she told me to go across the street and invite Mrs. Berard to come eat w/ us. We also called Mr. Jim, our neighbor to the north of us, and invited him. We were pleasantly surprised when they both accepted our invitation and came over to eat w/ us. We just sat out on the patio and ate and talked for a few hours. It was wonderful!
I feel so bad for Autumn, b/c so often she just goes off and plays by herself. She needs a sibling (that lives close) so bad. That’s one of the reasons why she LOVES it when Andrew comes to visit…she has someone to play with. While us adults were talking, she was lining her Lego horses up on the rug. She’s such a cute little bug.
Mrs. Berard had offered to watch a friend’s kids, and had put a note on her door that if she wasn’t home to just come over to our house. So, they did and Dad took them out in the garden and sent everyone home w/ some veggies. The little boy in the Superman shirt was SO HAPPY and kept wanting to pick everything he could see. It was cute to see his enthusiasm. Dad was totally in his element and loving every second of getting to share the fruits vegetables of his labors w/ others.
We cleaned up the food and then watched TV for a while. I spent a few hours scanning some old pictures on the new scanner that Mom got. I’m so excited to get those old pictures into digital format. Autumn & I had to leave b/c our Home Teachers came over at 7:00. I just love Bro. & Sis. Maggart. They are so good to us and it’s always good to have them in our home. After they left, Autumn & I watched the Survivor Finale. I’m glad that Boston Rob won (once Matt & Mike were out). I’m SO SAD that Matt didn’t win the $100K Sprint favorite player. I think that Matt’s going to be on the next one. Autumn said she was hungry, so I went and got her a bag of Funyon’s and then went back in the kitchen to do some dishes. When I came back into the living room, this is how I found her! Feet propped up, ankles crossed, and enjoying her chips like she was the Queen of Sheba. What a kid!
I put her to bed and watched Army Wives. The weekends go by way too fast and it’s already time to start another week!

I'm so sorry about Autumn's hair! It is kind of funny though, especially since it happened there in church. Um, babies screaming for their Dads? You had to have heard Elliot. I scurried out of there so fast. Of course, that sent Jane off and she kept yelling she didn't want to leave. Awe-Some. By the by, I'm glad everyone is safe from the accident. How frightening!
