This morning Nick came over at 7:00 am (a huge sacrifice for a Saturday morning) to stay w/ Autumn so I could go to the temple. I was only able to go once in April instead of the twice a month like I’ve tried to do for this year. But, I went 3 times in January, so I’m still on track to make my goal of going to the temple 24 times this year. I have to admit I had a bit of a struggle keeping my eyes open during the session. But, it was a good session and I love the peaceful feeling I get while being in the temple, especially the celestial room.
I got home and did some dishes and changed clothes and got Autumn ready for the day. We went to McDonald’s for lunch b/c I had a coupon for a free Kid’s Meal w/ the purchase of an adult value meal. We ate our lunch and then Autumn ran off to play for a while.
We left after an hour or so and headed down to my new office to help unpack boxes and get everything set up. I was worried Autumn might get in the way, but she was a complete ANGEL the whole time. I found some things she could do to help like sweep the warehouse (sweeping is one of her favorite things to do), helping me wipe off the desks once they were in the offices, etc.
When I didn’t have something for her to help me with, she went in one of the rooms and watched movies on my laptop that she had chosen like Shrek, Princess & The Frog, and a Barbie movie. She also brought some dolls to play with. We were there from 1:00 to 8:00 and she was perfect the entire time! I was so proud of her for being such a good helper.
We stopped at the store to get some small presents and balloons for Liz (it was her birthday yesterday) and Christine (it is her birthday today). I let Autumn pick a balloon and $1 toy for being so good today. She picked a small horse figurine. We stopped by Liz & Lib’s place to drop off Liz’s present and balloon, but they weren’t home so we just left it on the doorstep.
Then we went over to Christine’s and they were having a big party for her birthday and Steele also got his mission call to California. We gave her some fudge I made last night and her balloon w/ a card and sat and talked for a minute. She sent us home w/ a big piece of her chocolate birthday cake. It was a great day full of hard work, time spent w/ Autumn, and fun gift giving.
