Kickin’ It At The Clinic

P1020407 Autumn got doughnuts in bed this morning from Papa and will be sad after next week when that stops, b/c seminary is over next week.  She got herself dressed this morning while I was getting ready and looked so cute.

P1020408 She asked me to do her hair in a bun and was shaking her hips like a hula dancer.  Today at work I broke down and bought a 2010 Project Life kit off of ebay as a Happy Mother’s Day present to myself.  When the phone wasn’t ringing, I was going back through the year and deciding which pictures I wanted to print off to put in the kit when I get it.  I’ll make sure to post pictures when it comes in the mail.  I’m super excited about it.  I’ve been debating if I wanted to make the jump and buy it or not, b/c I always print off my blog and usually have WAY more than just one photo a day to share.

But, I finally decided to do it b/c while my Blurb books are great, I don’t have any actual printed off pictures to look at.  This way Autumn will have tangible pictures that she can look at and flip through a book to look at.  I’m still going to do the Blurb book but just add Project Life as another way of documenting our lives.

P1020409 Autumn wanted me to come out in the backyard so I could see a spider’s web she found.  While I was out there I saw these flowers out of the corner of my eye and thought the bachelor buttons that we had planted had finally bloomed.  But then when I looked closer I saw that they were the dead flowers from the plant Dad & Autumn & Andrew got for Mom for Mother’s Day.  I had to laugh and wonder if Dad was playing a joke or if he planted them in hopes that they might bloom next year.

P1020410 Mom & I made some Mediterranean salad and took it out to Dad at the clinic since he had to work tonight.  We also took some all white meat Tao chicken that Mom got at WalMart.  It wasn’t spicy and was just super flavorful.  We just set up camp in one of the empty rooms and Dad came and ate between seeing patients.

P1020412Autumn saw the stethoscope around Dad’s neck and asked him to listen to her heart and back.  How many 4 year olds even know that’s what a stethoscope is for, let alone want it used on them?  She’s such a funny little bug.  While we were sitting and talking, all of a sudden the Motrin wore off and I was having sharp pain in my gums.  I told Dad that the Vicodin I took the other night did NOTHING to help w/ my pain.  So, he suggested that I take 2 of them when I got home to see if that would help.

After we all ate, Mom & Autumn & I went out to JoAnn’s so Mom could get a zipper for a skirt she is making herself for the trip to China.  We went back to Mom & Dad’s house and it was already 8:45!  We watched some fire flies and then Autumn & I came home.  I took 2 Vicotin and watched some TV shows w/ Nick while Autumn played w/ her dolls.  About 40 minutes after taking the Vicodin, I felt the moment that it hit my brain b/c all of a sudden I felt fuzzy and light headed.  It was a weird feeling, but I was just glad my tooth didn’t hurt.  So if this post is weird and not making sense, it’s b/c of the Vicodin.  We stayed up and watched How I Met Your Mother and then 2 episodes of Whose Line and went to bed at midnight.
