Swimming & Sister Time

Dad called today and said he & Andrew were going to go pick Autumn up early from daycare.  They went over to one of the clinics and a professional photographer came and took pictures to put up on the clinic’s website.  After that, Papa took them to McDonald’s so they could get something to eat and play on the playground.  When I got home from work, they were out in the pool playing and having fun.

When Autumn wears goggles it cracks me up b/c she puts them on so tight that it makes her eyes and nose look distorted and weird.  Both kids did well at swim lessons tonight and it’s hard to believe that tomorrow is their last lesson.

We didn’t stay and swim at Mom & Dad’s tonight b/c Lexie & I had plans to have a sister’s night.  Mom watched Andrew for us and we came over to my house, put Autumn to bed, and then made brownies.  You can’t have brownies w/out eating the batter…that’s the best part!  We each got our own spatula and were laughing so hard and enjoying it so much that Lexie spilled it all down her chin!

The whole thing that inspired this evening was Lexie wanted to watch some movies from our childhood that we watched all the time.  The choices were between Newsies, Hello Dolly, Thoroughly Modern Millie, and Steel Magnolias.  Lexie picked Hello, Dolly!  We sang along to the songs, quoted the lines that we knew, and even called Nate at one point.  Nick came in to watch part of it w/ us and we were missing having Nate w/ us to make our sibling circle complete.

We had our warm brownies topped w/ ice cream and then when the movie was over, we watched one episode of Whose Line.  By this time it was midnight so I took Lexie home and then came back and crashed.  It was great to spend some good quality time with Lexie.
