This morning we got up and got ready for church and even had time to eat some breakfast before we had to leave. Usually we just have a bagel or toast or something we can eat on the run. But we got to sit down and enjoy a bowl of cereal. We even had time to clean out Autumn’s church bag, which was full of empty fruit snack bags, crushed goldfish, and broken crayons. We even had enough time for a self portrait.
I don’t know why there is a shadow across the bottom part of this picture, but I still had to post it, b/c it was like World War III trying to get Autumn to wear this dress. I bought it for only $3.50 a few months ago and she always refuses to wear it, but I laid down the law today and made her wear it. She finally realized how cute she looked in it, which I knew she would, and then she was happy to wear it to church.
My class was good today and we talked about the parable of the goats & sheep and how we want to be sheep and we do that by giving service to others. I had them all write the same thing on an index card and then told them to give an RAK this week. Here’s what they wrote:
“You have just received an RAK (random act of kindess). Pay it forward.”
It will be fun next Sunday to ask them what they did for their RAK. After church, Autumn & I came home and changed (she wanted to wear this dress since I wouldn’t let her wear it to church) and then went over to Mom & Dad’s. We just had left over fried rice and Ollie North chicken for lunch. Pam had gone and gotten Colton b/c she’s watching him. He is 18 months old and was getting into EVERYTHING! We forgot how tiring it is to have a toddler in the house. But he is so cute and I loved this picture of him & Autumn b/c of how different they look (he’s toe headed and white and she’s so dark) but they’re both adorable.
They left to go back home and I played Super Market Mania 2 on the iPad for a few hours. I already beat the game once, but wanted to go back and get expert on every level. Autumn was playing w/ her dolls and we watched Tangled and then after it was over she came and sat next to me on the love seat and next thing I know, she had fallen asleep.
We had grilled cheese sandwiches for dinner and then Mom & Dad’s home teachers came over. After they left, we watched last week’s episode of America’s Got Talent (I LOVED the silhouette group) and then I took Autumn home so we could get ready for the week. I had washed my sheets and hers, so I had to make up the beds so we could both go to sleep. It was a nice weekend.
