Last night on our drive home from the baseball game, Autumn asked if we could have pancakes in the morning and eat them in my bed. She’s asked if we could eat in my bed a few times in the past months now that I think about it. I wonder where she got that idea from b/c we haven’t done it in a long time, if ever. But, I told her we could definitely do that, so this morning when she woke up at 7:30 (so much for sleeping in), we went and made pancakes and then ate them in bed.
After we finished, she asked if we could watched Princess & The Frog so I said sure. I had planned on going to the temple, but Autumn begged me to stay home and spend some time with her. How could I say no to that? During the big musical number “Dig A Little Deeper” w/ Mama Odie, she got up and was dancing around the room. What a kid. After the movie, I vacuumed the whole house, cleaned my whole bathroom, and did some laundry. I was just tired of a dirty house.
Mom called and said she was hungry and wanted to go out to lunch. So, I got cleaned up and the she came and picked us up and we went to an Asian buffet b/c I had a 10% off coupon. The food there is SO GOOD! I filled 2 plates w/ just glazed green beans and saucy mushrooms. It’s all so flavorful and delicious. Autumn liked the dessert bar, including this chocolate fountain. I think she even ate a whole entire plate of just jell-o squares.
Nick went to work and Autumn & Mom & I went to WalMart so I could return a skirt and shirt that were too big. Mom took Autumn while I returned my stuff and Autumn told her, “I need a present.” Mom said, “Oh, really? What kind of present?” Autumn thought about it for a second and then said, “An iPad!” Mom & I got a kick out of that b/c kids are so innocent and have no concept of money and how much things cost. She didn’t leave empty handed, though. Mimi bought her a Barbie that was on sale. Autumn got quite a few compliments on her hair today. I needed some ketchup, syrup, butter, and hairspray. Mom just needed some milk, but we somehow ended up w/ an entire cart full of food. That always happens when we go to WalMart.
We came home and just vegged out in front of the TV and caught up on our recorded episodes of SYTYCD. Dad came home from a seminary meeting and said he wanted to go out and do something. Everything he suggested Mom turned down b/c she didn’t want to go outside in the heat. I suggested bowling a few times, but Mom didn’t want to move from the comfort of her recliner. So, we just stayed home and did nothing. Dad & Autumn were playing around and she wanted him to be her horsey. He went and put on some heavy duty knee pads so he could crawl around on the hard wood floors. Autumn was laughing hysterically and it was so contagious.
We came home and I put Autumn to bed and then watched Eat, Pray, Love while making this Peanut Butter Oreo Ice Cream Pie that I saw on Amanda’s blog. Let me just say that it is like diabetes on a plate! It’s so tasty, but also super rich so just a few small bites go a long way! I finally called it a night at 11:00.
