This morning I was getting ready and was surprised when I heard a knock on the front door since it was 7:20 am. It was Dad & he had brought doughnuts for Autumn & Nick & I. So even though poor Dad has to wake up at 5:15 to teach early morning seminary, Autumn is glad that seminary has started back up b/c Papa brings her doughnuts on Friday mornings. She was kind of out of it and groggy when he sat on the bed and started rubbing her back to wake her up. But as soon as she saw that white box, her eyes were wide open and she sat straight up in bed and shouted, “DOUGHNUTS!” I’m so glad that she has fun traditions like this to remember for years to come.
On the way home from work today, I stopped and got us some cheap tacos from Taco Bell and then went and got Autumn. We got home, hurried and ate, threw our stuff in a suitcase, and hit the road by 6:00. We drove down to Austin and got to the hotel around 9:30. It wasn’t too bad of a drive and the sunset was absolutely gorgeous. I was tempted to take a picture out the window but figured that was not a good idea while going 70 mph. Autumn was so excited when she saw the present Mimi had waiting for her on the bed. It’s a Tiana doll. Poor Andrew (you can see him asleep in the bed) tried waiting until we got there but his normal bedtime is 8:00 and he couldn’t make himself stay awake. Mom & I talked for a little while and then called it a night.
