Andrew made this calendar to count the days until we came down to visit. I thought this was so cute of him to do. Work was slow today after I got all of my work done, so I watched Modern Family then Project Runway then Grey’s Anatomy in between answering the phone and updating my spreadsheets. At 4:45, Mom & Autumn came and picked me up and we hit the road.
The roads weren’t bad until we got to downtown Dallas, but that’s to be expected on a Friday during rush hour. After we got through that mess, we made great time. We stopped in West, TX so we could try the kolaches at another Czech bakery. Lexie & Jon said that we went to the wrong one last time, so we had to try the “right one” this time.
The sausage koloaches here were better than the one we tried last time, but still weren’t amazing in my opinion. And their sweet kolaches were ok, but not as good as the other one. But, I had to take a picture of this board b/c the words are so much like Slovene that it made me almost start crying right there on the spot. I miss Slovenija so much, especially since I was there almost a year ago.
We got to Lexie & Jon’s around 8:30 and Andrew came running out of the house when we pulled up b/c he had been looking out the window just waiting for us. Lexie was telling us about their new ward and showed us their ward directory. We were looking through it and I saw this bottom picture and LOST IT! I think I was just really tired so everything was funny, but I was laughing so hard I was crying. It was just so unexpected to be looking at people’s pictures and then all of a sudden see this one! I told her it had to be a joke and then Mom said she should call this lady up and ask her if it’s a recent picture or if she’s gotten older since this picture was taken. I haven’t laughed that hard in a long time.
Of course Mimi came bearing gifts…a Spiderman guy for Andrew and a ballerina purse/bag for Autumn to put her ballet clothes in. Also in the bottom right hand corner you can see the new bed-in-a-bag that Mom got for Lexie & Jon’s king sized bed.
Lexie & Jon had had Papa Murphy’s pizza for dinner and got that dessert pizza (in the middle of the table) as well. We put that in the oven for a treat and the kids preferred to have grapes over the dessert pizza. What health conscious kids! We just sat and talked and loved on Jackson while the kids played. We finally called it a night at 10:30.
