This morning we all got up around 7:30 and somehow Mom & Lexie & I ended up in Lexie’s bed w/ Baby Jackson and we were just talking and laughing. Then the 2 kids decided to join us. This is for sure not the most flattering angle or best picture ever, but it makes me happy b/c these are the fun moments that make life memorable and enjoyable.
The kids wanted someone to play with them and “get them”, so Mom got up and started chasing them. The kids went and hid in the closet and slid the doors shut and thought they were so sneaky. That is until Mom just slid the door open and then they were trapped. They screamed b/c they were so startled and then she started tickling them and we were all laughing so hard.
We put Jackson in his crib b/c he loves to look at his Winnie the Pooh mobile that plays music and turns around. He gets the cutest expressions on his face when he sees it. He has changed so much since the last time we were down here, which was just a few weeks ago.
When Mom started “rawr-ing” to scare the kids, and then they started screaming poor Jackson’s cute smile went to this. Poor little guy was scared to death.
The fence between Lexie & Jon’s neighbors to their west fell down a few days ago. So, the neighbor’s big brown poodles come over into their yard and Trace goes over into their yard. The neighbors said they have a friend that can fix it and was going to come sometime today to fix it, but never did.
We were all in a hyper mood, so we cranked some toons and had a dance party. Lexie & I were thoroughly enjoying Autumn & Mom & Andrew’s sweet dance moves out on the patio.
Jon went and ran some errands while we watched the kids and fed, burped, and rocked Jackson to sleep. We went and got cleaned up and then when Jon got home we left him w/ Autumn & Andrew and had some girl time. We went to Big Lots to get a few things and ended up leaving w/ way more than we planned. Mom & Lexie found a great deal on a bed for the guest bedroom and a dresser for Jackson’s room. I sat on a couch w/ Jackson while they shopped. Then we went over to Fuzzy Taco for lunch. It was really good and Jackson slept the whole time.
It was such a blast to spend time w/ Lexie & Mom. I’m thankful that we are so close and are more than just family…we’re friends. Like the saying goes, “Family by design, friends by choice.”
We didn’t want to be gone too long, so we stopped at McDonald’s and got the kids a Happy Meal and took some food from Fuzzy’s Taco to Jon. We got back to the house and the guy from the cable company was there installing their phone, internet, and cable. We watched the Navy vs. Air Force game and he stayed and watched it w/ us. He was really funny & nice. We were glad that Air Force won in overtime. Since we had cable & internet now, we were able to watch the Saturday afternoon session of General Conference.
Mom took Andrew to the store to get him some new school shoes and some groceries. That way they were able to have some one-on-one time. Lexie was so cute w/ Autumn and they had a little mani/pedi time. Lexie painted Autumn’s fingernails and toes, and then let Autumn paint hers. Autumn thought she was the coolest chick around.
While they were doing that, I laid down on the love seat w/ Baby Jackson asleep on my chest. I’m telling you, life doesn’t get much better than this. I don’t know why, but I could NOT keep my eyes open to save my life. I even started snoring a few times and woke myself up. It was weird b/c I didn’t think that I was asleep enough to snore b/c I could hear conference in the background. Anyways, after conference we were going to to go the Congress Bridge to watch the largest bat colony in the US fly out from under the bridge, but I was too tired and Lexie & Jon & Mom have seen it before.
So, we just stayed home and enjoyed each other’s company. Mom got this play horse for Autumn b/c she’s been talking non-stop about how another one she had broke last year. We had steak & everything sandwiches for dinner and the kids sat outside on the patio and ate b/c it was so nice outside.
Jon went to Priesthood session and us girls and kids just stayed home and watched some football and then put in the movie 17 Miracles. Around 9:00, Autumn started acting really grouchy and whiny b/c she was so tired so I took her up and put her to bed. I wasn’t tired b/c I had taken a nap during conference (thank goodness for the internet and Ensign so I can listen to/read conference later) so I stayed up and blogged and watched football and played the iPad until 1:00 am!!!
