This morning Autumn not only got doughnuts in bed, but she got Papa to brush her hair. He also helped her put on her socks and shoes. He is so good to her (and our whole family) but they have such a special bond.
I spoiled myself today and went and got a panini & sweet potato fries at Market Street for lunch and was glad when 5:00 finally came. I went and got Autumn from college and then we went over to Anthropologie so I could get their blue volcano candle. It’s quite a splurge, so that’s why I don’t get one very often. But as soon as I took the lid off the candle and smelled inside the jar, I was in heaven. That smell is just out of this world. It’s so clean smelling and I can’t get enough of it. I wish they had it in a lotion and body spray.
After that, we went over to WalMart to get a few groceries and things like bleach (to clean the kitchen sink), plastic yellow gloves, a new plastic tablecloth, etc. Autumn didn’t want me to take her picture and was trying to hide behind me, which is why this picture is blurry, but I think it looks kind of cool.
As soon as we got home, we threw a pizza in the oven for dinner and I got to work cleaning. I took a break to eat w/ Nick & Autumn and then cranked the radio up and turned into a cleaning fiend. I vacuumed, mopped (which is my least favorite chore ever…I’d rather scrub a toilet than mop), cleaned windows and window sills, dusted and wiped off light fixtures, cleaned the microwave, cleaned the stove top and handles on the oven, put away all of Autumn’s clothes, put stuff out in the garage that I want to give to Good Will, etc. I even had Nick climb up on the kitchen counters to clean the top of the cabinets and dust the cobwebs out of the corners of the ceiling. I haven’t done such a deep clean since we moved into the house. Nothing like having ladies from church over to make me clean so well. LOL!
I put Autumn to bed at 9:30 and then kept on cleaning. My back and legs were killing me when I finally sat down at midnight. I was too wired from cleaning, so I watched a little TV to unwind. It was such a nice feeling to know I was going to sleep in a freshly cleaned house.
