Even though I didn’t go to bed until 1:00 am, I was up at 6:20. I got cleaned up and did some final cleaning and then Rachel came and picked me up at 7:10. We drove to the temple and it was a good session. There was a TV on a little stand, which I had never seen before. It was for a hearing impaired person and had closed captioning. That was the first time I had ever seen that before. As soon as the session was over, Rachel and I left and rushed back to my house to be there for all the Relief Society sisters to come over. There were only about 10 of us at the temple, but they had told sisters to come have brunch even if they couldn’t make it to the temple. So, we weren’t sure how many women were going to be there. There only ended up being 7 of us!!! And, no one even went and sat in the living room. We just sat at the dining room tables. Oh, well.
I had to get some pictures of how clean the house was b/c it hasn’t been that clean since we moved in. I cleaned the whole house just in case anyone wanted a little tour, but no one did. So, really I could have just cleaned the kitchen and living room, but it was nice to have the whole house clean at once.
We had cut up fruit, big muffins, orange juice, banana bread, and then 2 breakfast casseroles. One was a potato, cheese & sausage casserole. Then there was this one, which was incredible. It was like a bread pudding crust w/ blueberries, candied nuts, and cream cheese on top. Then you put syrup on top of all that. YUMMY!
The ladies didn’t stay very long, so it was on to the next part of the day. I called Liz and told her everyone was gone, so she got cleaned up and then came over. We sat and talked for a little bit and then went to Chili’s for lunch. We both got the Santa Fe wraps w/ the best ranch dressing. They have remodeled our Chili’s and I really like it, especially the glass dividers behind Liz. I don’t know why Autumn looks like a stinker here, b/c she was actually having a lot of fun and was being really good. She had a corn dog and mandarin oranges for her meal, which was crazy b/c I could have given her triple the amount she got for 1/2 the price. Oh, well.
After we ate, we came back to the house and made the chocolate chip cookie cupcakes w/ frosting b/c she said she saw them on my blog and they looked so good. While they were baking we just sat and talked, which was great b/c I haven’t seen her in what feels like way too long. When the first batch was done and cooled, Autumn helped me with putting sprinkles on the frosting. For the picture Liz put her cupcake on her cute pregnant belly.
So, Autumn had to put her cupcake on her tummy, too. Also, Liz let Autumn do her hair in pigtails earlier. She’s such a good friend to let Autumn do that. She didn’t know I was going to take this picture, which is why she’s looking off to the side instead of at the camera.
Liz had to go home, but I’m so glad we got to spend so much time with her today. Autumn and I took some of our cookie cupcakes and took them down to our neighbor, Keith, who helped us turn off our water leak last week. We had tried a few times before and he hadn’t been there, but he was there today and we also got to meet his wife and 3 kids. They are such a sweet and welcoming and nice family. Autumn & I went over to Mom & Dad’s house to let Emma out to go potty. Mom & Dad got up early this morning and drove down to Austin to party w/ Kerry & Carmen & Lex & Jon. Dad, Jon, Uncle Rett, Kerry K, and Seth all got to go to the BYU vs. UT game. Autumn & I watched at home and it was a good game, but I was so disappointed in BYU during the 2nd half. We lost by one point! So sad.
While we were watching the game, Autumn would come sit by me and then go play w/ her dolls and then come back again. She was playing w/ her dolls and then came over to me and said out of the blue, “Mama, do you need a snuggle?” I told her I definitely needed one and love getting snuggles from her. She said, “How many do you need? I can give you 5 of them.” That caught me completely off guard and made me laugh. She even put her arms out like this to show me how many snuggles she could give me. It made my whole night.
I was exhausted by 9:30 when the football game was over, b/c I had stayed up so late last night cleaning and then gotten up early this morning. I told Autumn it was time to go home and go to sleep, and she asked if we could sleep in Nate’s bed and since I was too tired to drive home, I told her we could. I was out like a light as soon as my head hit the pillow.
