Reading & Working Evenings

peach Yesterday I got all my work done by noon, so I had nothing to do in the afternoon in between answering phone calls.  I LOVE onread.com, but am not sure which books will be good and uplifting instead of smutty.  Side note: whenever I think of the phrase “smutty book” it makes me think of Eulalie Mackechnie Shinn on the Music Man.  Such a good movie.  Anyways, a blog I stalk a lot posted about a book she read by Sarah Addison Allen that she said was really good.  So, I typed that author’s name into onread.com and 2 books came up.  I started this book yesterday and got 75% through it.  Then I finished it today.  It’s a fast and fun read and I liked the characters and small hint of mystery.

moon Since I finished that book today and liked it so much, I started this one and also finished it today.  This one had more magic in it, and I liked it the way the author develops the characters.  I’ll have to find her other books and read them, b/c onread.com doesn’t have her other books on their website.

After work, I stopped and got a Little Caesar’s pizza for dinner and picked Autumn up from college and then we rushed home, scarfed down our food, and went over to Christine’s house.  She had called earlier in the day and asked if I could help her out for a few nights this week.  Autumn had fun playing w/ the kids and I got busy on a project in Outlook she gave me.  Before I knew it, it was already 9:00, which is Autumn’s bed time so we came home and did our bedtime routine.

I was so tired, and I don’t know why b/c the work I was doing for Christine wasn’t hard.  But, I guess my body is just used to relaxing in the evenings.  I feel bad b/c Mom thought we were coming over for dinner after work/school, but when I called to talk to her she was not feeling well b/c she got nauseous after her colonoscopy this morning.  But, Nick went over after he got done w/ his home teaching and ate all the grilled cheese sandwiches she had made.

Having so much extra time at work, once I get all my work done sounds like fun.  But, I can only surf the web for so long before it gets really boring.  Does anyone have suggestions on some good books I can read?
