Sno Cones & Good Music

P1030176 Today after work/school, we went straight to get the oil changed in the car b/c it was about 500 miles past due.  I usually wait and get things like that done on Saturdays, but the past few Saturdays have been busy.  Anyways, while our oil was being changed we walked over to a sno cone shack and each got one.  Autumn didn’t care what flavor hers was, she just wanted a pink/red one.  So, I got her the strawberry cheesecake flavor and I got coconut.  Mine was so much better than hers, so I shared.

P1030182 We didn’t know how long it was going to take our car to be ready, so we walked back over to the car place and waited outside.  Autumn wanted to wear her cowboy boots to school today, and I said she could since they are closed toe and that’s all her daycare requires.  I thought she looked so cute in them.  Our car was done super fast, so we paid and then went to Mom & Dad’s house.  We had left over eggrolls and fried rice again, but it’s so good that I could eat it for a week straight.  Autumn wanted to watch Jem, so we watched that for a little bit until Papa got home from work.  Then he ate and we had banana cream pie for dessert.

We came home and I put her to bed and watched Project Runway.  Earlier today at work, I was doing a lot of typing and it was getting boring, so I looked up songs by the Carpenters on youtube and listened to their songs and then listened to Les Miserables songs, too.  I just LOVE good music that stirs my soul.  I am thankful that my parents took us to see good musical productions and have installed that love for theater and the arts and uplifting music in us.  I will never forget that when we lived in Washington, that we all went to see Phantom of the Opera in Vancouver.  After that, they got the CD’s so we could listen to them in the car, and pretty soon we were singing along and knew all the songs.  Nate was only 5 years old and he would be out on the playground singing “The Phantom of the Opera is there, inside my mind.”  Good stuff!
