Introducing Autumn To Good Things

P1030426 Even though I wasn’t a fan of the idea at first, I kind of like having 1:00 church now instead of 9:00.  We are able to have a leisurely breakfast in the morning, get things done around the house, and spend time together.  I don’t know why, but I was in the mood to watch Anne of Green Gables, so I put that in and Autumn came and snuggled up next to me on the couch and we watched 3/4 of it before it was time to get ready for church.  It’s such a good movie and I love that it’s touching yet entertaining.  The acting is so good that I forget they are acting, and I think of the characters as real people.  I’m glad Autumn sat and watched it with me so that she can love it as much as I do.  It was funny b/c she’d ask a ton of questions.  My favorite was, “Mama, why did that girl hit that boy on the head w/ her chalkboard?”  LOL!

P1030434 The talks in sacrament meeting today were really good and about having a positive attitude.  We spent the next 2 hours going through the Primary Program twice so we can be prepared for next Sunday when we do the real thing in sacrament meeting.  Autumn did really well on her line and loved going up to the front to sing.  She kept looking over at me and holding up 3 fingers to indicate that she was being good and earning 3 scoops of ice cream tonight.

We went straight to Mom & Dad’s after church and had a sandwich to tide us over until dinner time.  We watched some football and just relaxed.  Then we ate dinner and I went to the Single Adult Fireside.  Tonight our Stake Presidency spoke and their talks were all wonderful.  Pres. Fisher talked about power and what we can do to have more power for good in our lives, Pres. Jones talked about the Plan of Happiness and how we should all have our own Personal Plan of Happiness, and then Pres. Wright just shared some of his favorite scriptures that are sweet and simple truths of the Gospel.

I stayed to help clean up the chairs and refreshments and didn’t get back to Mom & Dad’s until 9:00.  Dad was sitting at the table w/ Autumn eating ice cream, but as soon as I brought in this big bowl of left over fruit from the fireside, Autumn wasn’t interested in the ice cream anymore and wanted some fruit.  I’m so glad she likes to eat healthy things like fruit & veggies over less healthy things.  Since it was so late, we got in the car and headed home so I could put her to bed.  I stayed up until 11:00 watching Sister Wives and then called it a night.
