Since we spent the night at Mom & Dad’s last night, I set my alarm clock for 6:00 and got up and came home, showered, and headed to the temple. I don’t know why I seem to get a temporary case of narcolepsy when I go to early morning sessions, b/c it was such a struggle for me to keep my eyes open. However, I made myself pay attention b/c it’s so important for the person I’m doing the proxy for.
After the session, I bought 10 new pairs of garments (my birthday gift from Mom & Dad) b/c the ones I have now look more gray than white b/c I’ve had them so long. When I left, I noticed these pretty star looking flowers in multiple colors in the flowerbeds. Then I noticed this bee being so industrious and even though I am scared of bees, I got as close as I dared and took a couple of pictures. I’m so glad this one turned out so well, even though his eyes are a little creepy.
On my way home, I called Mom to see how Autumn was doing. She said they got up, Dad made Texas waffles, and that I would never guess where they were. Dad has set out a live trap the past few nights b/c the armadillos have torn up the lawn. But, they didn’t catch an armadillo, they caught a baby possum. So, they took the possum to the lake to let him go. Then they stopped at Sonic to get a treat, b/c it’s tradition. I am super proud of them for taking pictures & documenting it even though I wasn’t there.
We all met up at Mom & Dad’s house and then headed off to the baseball park b/c there was a pumpkin patch party there. They had part of the outfield sectioned off and full of pumpkins. It was $4 for a pumpkin, and Mom & Dad bought 2 tickets. They got there before I did, b/c I don’t have a toll tag and had to take the frontage road.
Mom & Dad said Autumn picked out these 2 pumpkins and wouldn’t look at any others b/c theses were the 2 she wanted. I like that…a girl who knows what she wants. I decided to wear my Halloween scrub top and skeleton earrings to be festive.
I hope Autumn realizes someday that she has THE BEST Papa & Mimi EVER! The weather was in the mid 80’s w/ a nice breeze, which is why Mom’s hair looks wind blown.
Once we got our pumpkins, we went and sat out on the field and watched part of the Texas/OU game b/c they had it playing on the big screen. I was surprised how many Dads were there, b/c I thought they would all be home watching the game. But, I guess someone had to carry the pumpkins to the cars. Deuce came around to say hi to the kids, so I handed my camera to Mom & Dad and took off in the other direction. I’m glad Autumn didn’t inherit my fear of people in costumes. We let her take her shoes & socks off and run around and play.
Dad wanted to go home and work on taking out all the dead plants in the garden, so they took Autumn & went home. I ran by Sam Moon’s for just a few minutes b/c I was so close to it. I was very proud of myself and used self restraint and only got 3 things. Then I went to my 1:00 nail appointment. Binh does such an awesome job. I walked next door to Once Upon A Child to see if they had anything. I got 3 cute shirts for Autumn for less than $10! LOVE THAT!
Then I stopped at WalMart to pick up some pictures of the family that Mom had printed off to take w/ her to Germany to show the Patzolds. I also got a few groceries and things we needed. I went to Mom & Dad’s and Autumn was so excited to show me how she does a hand stand. She leans over the armrest of the couch and puts her legs up in the air.
This is one of the shirts I got her, and it was just $3.50. It’s a nice NFL jersey and even though it’s a Peyton Manning jersey, I had to get it for that price. Plus, Mom LOVES Peyton so it worked out perfectly and she looks so cute in it. We just hung out and watched TV for a while and then had steak and green bean casserole for dinner. We had 4 huge steaks and couldn’t finish them all so we called Mary & told her to come over and eat the extra while it was hot. I haven’t seen her in a while since we don’t get together every week at Christine’s, so it was great to see her. After we ate, Autumn wanted to go outside and ride her scooter.
Once it started getting dark, we came in and watched some recorded episodes of Project Runway that Mom hadn’t seen. I had Autumn clean up the living room b/c she can make quite a mess w/ her blankets and dolls. We came home and she went right to bed b/c she was so tired and had had such a big day. I watched TV and am happy that Harry’s Law is back for another season. I blogged at watched that and then Golden Girls. We got a big rain storm out of no where, which is great b/c we can use the rain. It’s so nice to just relax and listen to the rain hitting the windows and roof.

Why is your mom going to Germany? I'm totally jealous.
