Tonight after work/school, we went over to Mom & Dad’s for dinner. Mom had made a yummy pork roast that had been in the crock pot all day. Then we had to eat and run since it was YM/YW tonight. Nick wasn’t working, so he was nice enough to watch Autumn for me. Tonight it was a combined activity and the Young Men were in charge. We played Broomkey. It’s basically a game of hockey but you use brooms instead of hockey sticks and a small ball instead of a puck, and obviously there’s no ice. I thought it would be a fun activity for the boys, but I didn’t think the Young Women would be very into it. But, I was wrong and everyone seemed to have a great time.
I was shocked that no one got hurt, except for the 5 brooms that broke. They split everyone up into 4 teams and played 2 games, one on each side of the accordion divider. The game was 15 minutes and then they switched it up and the losing teams played each other and the winning teams played each other. That was another 15 minute game. Then they opened up the divider and had everyone play w/ just 2 teams. Then they had ice cream and Oreos for dessert. I just sat on the stage and watched, but it seemed like a really fun activity.
I came home and had some cereal w/ Autumn Bottom and then put her to bed. I folded 2 loads of laundry, started another one, watched Revenge and worked on PL. The weather was so nice today (in the 60’s) and when I left YW it was really windy and started getting really cold. It’s crazy b/c I remember last winter that we had some really bad snow/ice days. I don’t mind the nice warm weather at all, but we really need some moisture b/c our local lake is 12 feet below normal levels and I’m worried about major drought conditions this coming summer. I don’t want ice at all, but some rain would be great.
