Chalkboard Plates

P1040203 Tonight Autumn & I had to eat and run b/c I had Young Women’s at 7:00.  Mom made a turkey, mashed potatoes, and stuffing b/c Nick got a free turkey from work and it needed to be used.  It was awesome to have a Thanksgiving dinner.  I dropped Autumn off at home so Nick could watch her and then went to the activity.  I did a quick little lesson about goals or choosing One Little Word and gave them a handout to go w/ it.  Then we started working on our craft.

P1040204Sis. Lee bought these plates at the $1 store.  We painted them w/ 2 coats of chalkboard paint and hot glued a ribbon the back so it can hang.  The little blue and pink ball in the upper left hand corner of the plate are magnets so that handouts or other papers and things can be held on the plate.  The idea was that the girls can write the One Little Word or goals on the plate or anything else that helps them stay focused on it throughout the year.  I am not a crafty type person, but these were so super easy and fun to do.  I can already tell that Autumn is going to have fun writing on the plate w/ chalk.
