I have been LOVING this weather the past few days! It’s been in the high 60’s and low 70’s. When we got over to Mom & Dad’s after work/school, Dad was outside replanting some shrubs. Autumn ran right over to help him and this picture cracks me up b/c she has a little shovel full of dirt in one hand and her dolls in the other. What a girl!
Autumn likes to tell Papa what he tells her, “we’re friends and friends help each other”. I’m glad they’re good buddies and that she likes to be outside and work with him.
After dinner we came home and were doing our nightly routine. I was kneeling down at Autumn’s bed waiting for her to finish brushing her teeth so we could say prayers. Usually I’m telling her to hurry up, but tonight for some reason I just sat and watched her and realized how I need to live in the moment. I love it that she’s wearing her Minnie Mouse pajamas, her striped pink slippers, that she stands up on a stool to brush her teeth, that her hair is so long, and that she’s admiring herself in the mirror. I read this blog post yesterday that’s entitled “Don’t Carpe Diem” and it just hit home b/c I was having what she calls a “Kairos time” moment. It was such a sweet moment that I had to document, so when she’s a sassy teenager I can look back at this picture and remember how sweet and innocent and cute she is.
