This morning Rylee & Catherine came over at 7:30 for the start of our mini missions. We have 8 Laruels in our Young Women’s program and the girls were paired up and each companionship was paired w/ an adult leader. Anyways, here was our schedule, which is what the normal missionaries follow, too:
7:30 – 8:00 Breakfast
8:00 – 9:00 Personal Study
9:00 – 10:00 Companionship Study
10:15 – 11:00 Teach 1st Discussion to Hopewell Family
11:12 – 12:00 Teach 1st Discussion to Hall Family
(We were supposed to teach another family, but when we called to confirm the appt before leaving for the day they said they forgot we were coming and were on their way out of town for a soccer game)
12:15 – 1:15 Lunch at the Lofgren’s Home
1:30 – 3:30 Meet at Bishop’s house for a testimony meeting
Before we left for the day, I wanted to get a picture w/ the girls and one of them suggested that we do our own Dan Jones picture like Pres. Jones had talked about last night.
I was SO IMPRESSED with the 2 girls I was paired up with and how well they did even though I know they were super nervous. All the families we visited were wonderful and made an intimidating situation very relaxed. After we got done w/ our lunch appointment, we all met at the Bishop’s house for a testimony meeting. The Spirit was SO STRONG and of course I cried and cried. I’m so thankful that I got to be a part of this neat experience. It made me super nostalgic for my mission days.
I rushed to Mom & Dad’s house b/c I missed my Autumn Bottom. I hadn’t seen her since last night. Mom & Dad had set up a the “special bed” in their room just for her. They said she did great last night and only woke up once to go potty. She was asleep when I got there and looked so sweet and peaceful and angelic.
We relaxed and watched TV for a while, and being up until 3:30 am finally caught up with me. It’s interesting that I wasn’t one bit tired when I was out serving the Lord and was filled w/ the Holy Ghost. Anyways, once Autumn woke up we wanted to go outside and enjoy the perfect weather. It was in the mid 60’s with a light breeze. Dad has these beautiful kale growing in the pots around the pool. I liked the 3 different shots of up close, further out, and the whole plant.
Look at all of that texture and color!
Autumn wanted to ride her scooter around for a little bit and then when she saw Papa go out to the garden, she was his little shadow. I think it’s so cute that she’s still got her helmet on while she “helps” Papa dig up the weeds.
After helping w/ the weeds, she went around and filled up all the little holes in the cement bricks w/ leaves. I asked her why she was doing that and she said it would help the onions (which are usually there) to grow. Dad and I just laughed and shook our heads. She’s such a cute little bug.
There were still some onions in another part of the garden, so Dad let her pick some of those. I’m SO THANKFUL that she gets the experience of being in a garden and learning how to work hard in order to later harvest the fruits of her labors. Gardens are a great school of learning.
Autumn wanted Mom to cook up the onions she had picked, so Mom cleaned them off and fried them up in some butter. I got these onion goggles for Mom for Christmas, and I tried them out. They didn’t work too well for me b/c my head is so big so there wasn’t a tight seal around my eyes. So, Autumn wanted to try them out and looks super stylish if you ask me. LOL.
It was Dad’s work party tonight, and he left early to be there before it started so he could welcome everyone as they came in. Autumn & I helped Mom get ready and she looked so pretty in her new dress w/ her new haircut. Autumn was soaking up every second of getting to watch Mimi do her hair and make up. Autumn is a total girly girl. Mom is so beautiful!
Once Mom & Dad were both gone, I told Autumn we should go home b/c I was super tired. But, Autumn was super concerned about who was going to take care of Emma dog if no one was home. I assured her that Emma is okay to be home by herself for a few hours, but Autumn wouldn’t have any of that. So, we got out her Disney puzzle from Christmas and put it together. Autumn wanted to show off her other things she got for Christmas and held them up for the picture. I was finally able to convince her to leave Emma, so we went home and watched a little TV and then went to bed b/c I was so tired from being up until 3:30 am. Today was an awesome day!
