I “Chews” You

P1040342Today sacrament meeting was so good.  I got out my scripture topics journal and was writing stuff down left and right.  One of the talks was about hope, which I was loving since that is my One Little Word for the year.  In Primary today, they sang a Happy Birthday song to all the 3 kids that have a birthday this week.  I stayed and sat in the back and sang along w/ the song and had to stop b/c I was getting choked up.  Autumn is just growing up so fast and when she smiled and waved at me and had a sparkle in her eye I was hit by the magnitude of how blessed beyond belief I am that she’s mine.  It was another great Kairos moment.  Last year for the birthday treat they handed out a Hershey candy bar w/ a scripture wrapped around the wrapper.  This year the Primary theme is CTR (Choose The Right) and the treat was a pack of gum w/ a note that said, “Chews The Right.”

Autumn was THRILLED that she got her very own pack of gum, b/c she loves gum.  But, chewed up gum makes Mom gag and throw up, so gum is pretty much banned at Mom & Dad’s house.  So, Autumn doesn’t get gum very often and that’s why she was so excited.  After church we had the usual Sunday dinner of roast, carrots, potatoes, gravy and then manly jello for dessert.

P1040345 I had to leave at 5:00 to go visiting teaching at 5:30.  I got a new partner and kept one of the ladies I used to teach and then got a new lady.  I love her, b/c she used to be in the big visiting teaching group I was in when I first moved into the ward.  It’s funny b/c all 3 of us are divorced and we just sat and talked, and there was an amazing Spirit there that had me teary eyed a few times.  I used to hate visiting teaching but have since had a major change of heart and am so glad I get to meet w/ these neat ladies once a month.  We see each other at church and say hi as we pass in the hallways, but this is a chance to sit and actually get to know each other.

We talked for over an hour, so as soon as we were done I rushed back to Mom & Dad’s since I didn’t get a lot of time w/ Autumn yesterday.  She was asleep in Mom’s arms, which was so cute b/c she doesn’t usually hold still enough to fall asleep while cuddling.  This picture makes me laugh b/c it looks like Emma’s trying to get in on the cuddling, too.  I worked on my blog and then we had to wake Autumn up so she would still go to sleep later on tonight.

We came home and watched some TV and relaxed.  Autumn played w/ her toys for a while and then we called it a night.  I’m still trying to catch up on sleep since staying up until 3:30 am on Friday.  This is going to be a fun week since Autumn’s birthday is on Tuesday.
