Yesterday at work I noticed some food kept getting stuck in one of my teeth. I felt around w/ my tongue and the crevice of my tooth was much deeper than usual, but it didn’t hurt. I decided I’d better have it looked at in case a filling came out or something was wrong. My usual dentist has been out sick this whole week, so he was booked up through next Thursday and I didn’t want to wait that long. So, they booked me w/ a new dentist at the same practice. I left work at 3:30 to get there by 4:00 and made it in perfect time. I was glad to see that I got my usual dental assistant that helps my normal dentist. The new dentist was young and tall and skinny and reminded me of Nick. He was friendly and did an EXCELLENT job! I ended up having a cavity, which is why part of my tooth broke off and I had that deep crevice. He said I was really lucky that it hadn’t reached the nerve or else I would have been looking at a root canal instead of just a fill.
He numbed my gums, and I didn’t even feel the needle AT ALL, which is awesome b/c usually I feel some pressure and a little prick. He said it was too quiet and he couldn’t hear the music that was playing on the other side of the building, so he went on iTunes and found a radio station and played music b/c he said he works better that way.
Anyways, long story short, I really liked having him work on my tooth b/c he would tell me what was going on before he did it and he worked fast, efficiently, and my tooth never even hurt after the local anesthesia wore off. He showed me where I have another cavity on a bottom tooth that is getting close to the root, which I need to have done soon. I will for sure be booking that appt w/ him. I was so happy when I went to pay and it was only $43 b/c my dental insurance finally kicked in after the 1 year waiting period.
Dad had gone and got Autumn for me b/c I didn’t know how long I would be at the dentist. We had grilled cheese and squash for dinner, and then watched last night’s recorded episode of Modern Family. It was a good one and my favorite line was from Gloria when she said, “we have to skate on thin eggshells around you all the time.” She mixed up skate on thin ice w/ walking on eggshells. LOL!
Mom said she had a surprise for me, and it was this AWESOME apron that she found on sale. I LOVE aprons and have a collection of them hanging on the back door of the laundry room. My favorites are the ones that Grandma Johnson made me. This one is definitely up at the top of the list b/c it’s such fun colors and is so girly and pretty.
Anyways, it was 8:00 so I packed Autumn up and we headed for home. On the way home, she wanted to hold my phone b/c I was playing some music on it but I told her no, and for some reason she freaked out and had a melt down. I remained calm and just told her that’s not how she asks for things and she needed to stop. She got mad and went to hit my arm and ended up pulling my hair (which by the way has all of a sudden out of nowhere grown a lot). I told her as soon as we got home, she was going straight to bed b/c we don’t hit or pull hair.

She was sobbing and kept saying she was sorry, but I knew that I needed to follow through. I took her to her room and got her dressed in jammies, brushed her teeth, and then sat on her bed to read in the Book of Mormon. I was reading when all of a sudden, I noticed a quick movement out of the corner of my eye. I looked over and saw something crawl up Autumn’s leg and under her pajamas. It freaked me out and moved so fast that I stood up and started yelling at her to stand up and start shaking around to get the bug off her. I didn’t know if it was a spider or what. I yelled for Nick to come in and find it and kill it. It ended up being a centipede looking thing that was kind of like an albino rolly polly. It blended in w/ the carpet but Nick found it and put it in the trash.
I started laughing so hard b/c I had freaked out for nothing. Poor Autumn was beside herself and made me look all over in her sheets and under her bed to make sure there weren’t more bugs. It was one of those things that at the time was scary but after it was over was super funny. I called Mom to tell her what had happened. Good times.
