I didn’t think that my amaryllis would bloom b/c it was on clearance at Target so I thought it might be past it’s stage if that’s even possible for flower bulbs. I followed the directions that came w/ the pot and bulb, but nothing happened. Just in the past 2 days it started growing and sprouting. So, I took a picture and will take a picture every few days just to show the progress. I love being able to watch nature like this.
My alarm went off this morning and I was still feeling really achy and had a bad cough, so I called in sick to work. I went back to sleep and Autumn and I slept in until 9:30! It felt so good to sleep in. We both got ready for the day and I dropped her off at daycare and then went over to Mom & Dad’s house. Dad has been sick too, so we all just hung out, he took a nap, and I vegged on the couch snuggled up in the chicken blanket, b/c it’s so cozy. We were hungry and Mom wanted to get out of the house, so we went to Cheddar’s for lunch. I love that place!
Poor Mom had to have blood drawn last week and she still has this big huge bruise from where they had to dig around to find a vein! Poor Mom!
We had brought the Leap Pad to keep Andrew entertained, which is a good thing b/c it took a long time for the food to arrive. It was funny b/c he was playing it but Mom & Dad were hovering over him trying to help him figure out one of the games. Of course when I got out my camera to take a picture, they looked up. So, I made them reenact it, and Dad was being silly and pretending to bite Andrew.
We weren’t going to order dessert, but when Papa asked Andrew if he wanted anything, Andrew didn’t miss a beat and said, “of course!” We got a good laugh out of that and Dad ordered a cookie monster. We shared it and it was gone in just a few minutes. So much for us saying we didn’t want any dessert! LOL! Lexie said we couldn’t leave even a morsel of it b/c it was so good. So, I took the skillet that the cookie monster comes in and poured the melted ice cream down the handle and into her mouth! We were all laughing so hard. How’s that for licking the plate clean?
I have my jacket on backwards, b/c the temperature in the restaurant was bi-polar. When we first sat down, it was so warm that even Lexie took off her jacket, which is saying A LOT! Then, someone else must have asked them to turn on the A/C because it got super cold to the point that I had to put on my jacket, which is saying A LOT!
We had planned on going to the 12:30 showing of Joyful Noise, the movie w/ Queen Latifah & Dolly Parton. But, we didn’t even get our food until 12:10, so we obviously missed the movie. Oh, well. We’ll just wait and rent it when it comes out at Redbox.
Nick didn’t come w/ us b/c he wasn’t dressed and ready for they day yet, plus he had to get ready to go to work. So, we took him some of our leftovers and Mom didn’t think there was enough to feed his bottomless stomach, so we went next door to McDonald’s to get him some food. Mom got Nick a Happy Meal so Andrew could have the toy, and they had this shamrock shake that looked good. We ordered one just to try it even though we were stuffed from just eating at Cheddar’s. It was really pretty and tasted OK, but wasn’t something I would order again.
After we dropped the food off to Nick, we ran some errands to the bank and then to the grocery store so Mom could get some stuff for dinner this week. Lexie, Andrew, Jackson & I just stayed in the car and waited since Jackson was asleep. When Mimi finally came back to the car, she told Andrew that she had gotten 3 boxes of cereal…one for her house, one for my house, and one for him to take home. Without missing a beat, Andrew said, “well what about one for Uncle Curt’s house?” We busted up laughing b/c it was so random and unexpected. He hasn’t been to Curt’s house in who knows how long, and we hadn’t talked about Curt at all today. We got such a kick out of it that we called Curt to share w/ him that Andrew was worried about him getting some cereal.
So, we came home from the grocery store and I took up my position on the couch again. Mom went outside to watch Andrew ride his bike and I fell asleep for a little bit. Next thing I know, Curt & Andrew & Mom came in the house. Curt had come over to get his box of cereal! LOL! The whole thing was just random and hilarious.
The rest of the evening was pretty uneventful. I worked on going through my blog from 2010 so I can print off pictures from that year to Project Life them. I went and got Autumn from “college” and Andrew came with me. We went back to Mom & Dad’s house and just watched TV. I hope I am feeling better tomorrow so I can go back to work. I’m just thankful I don’t have a fever and the full blown flu. Being achy and sniffy and coughy is bad enough!
