Happy Birthday, Karri!

IMG_5402 Today at work it was busy, but not too bad.  On the way home from work, I stopped to take a picture of the iris that are COVERING the flowerbeds to the entrance of a subdivision.  I especially liked this one that had lower purple petals & upper white petals.

IMG_5401 I also loved this maroon looking one.  I drive past it everyday and decided that today was the day I would stop.  I don’t want to wait until it’s too late and then the bloom will be off the rose, so to speak.

P1050321 As soon as I got Autumn from daycare, it was non-stop craziness.  We went to WalMart to grab a chicken tender meal for Autumn and to see if they had Birthday Cake Oreos.  They didn’t, so we went to the closest CVS since I had found them at another CVS.  There were none there, so Autumn & I went to the Dollar Store to get some balloons.  They were all out of helium, so we got back in the car and went to another Dollar Store.  Luckily, they had balloons, and by this time it was already 6:15.  We ran across town to the CVS where I found the Birthday Cake Oreos earlier in the week.  I was so relieved so see that they had 2 packages left, which is exactly what I needed.  We were headed out to the car when Autumn stepped off the curb wrong and fell and scraped her knee.  It wasn’t bleeding, but she was crying and upset and it was scraped up pretty bad (you can’t really tell in this picture).  We went back into CVS and went in the bathroom so we could put a cold wet paper towel on it.  Poor little bug!

IMG_5407 By this time it was 6:50, so we hurried and rushed over to On The Border to meet everyone at 7:00 to celebrate Karri’s birthday.  There were a bunch of people waiting outside, so Autumn & I went in and put our names on the list and they said it would be over an hour wait.  Once Karri & the girls got there we decided that was too long to wait, so we called Chili’s and they said they could have a table ready for us in 10 – 15 minutes.  We went over there and got the party started.  We got out the Happy Birthday crowns, gave Karri her candy and balloons, and Autumn had picked out these awesome purple sunglasses as a gift.

IMG_5411 Karri had said that she wanted to celebrate w/ the girls, too, so they came and sat at one end of the table.  We were laughing so hard b/c Jessie (on the right) is 14 and a few months older than Kylie (on the left).  But, the waitress brought Jessie a kid’s size drink b/c she thought Jessie was under 12 years old!  We were telling Jessie to use her young look to her advantage for as long as she can.

IMG_5413 Autumn was having the time of her life at the table w/ the other girls.  Mary had brought a bunch of fun stuff, which included these ring pops.  I told the girls to hold out their hands, show me their rings and say, “daaaa-hling” in a British accent.  Dad stopped by since he had been at one of the clinics.  He picked up Autumn and took her home, b/c we were going to a 9:45 movie and that would be way too late for Autumn to stay up.

IMG_5419-1 Our waitress (the girl on the left) was so cute and surprised all of us by bringing a big brownie & ice cream to share w/ a bunch of spoons.  A bunch of the staff came and sang Happy Birthday, too.  We were by far the most fun table in the joint.

IMG_5421-1 After we finished dinner and paid, we went to the theater to wait in line for the late showing of Mirror Mirror.  We weren’t sure if it would be packed or not b/c it was opening night.  We were the first ones in line and they made us wait until 10 minutes before the show started to let us in.  We were not happy that we had to wait in line for so long.  But, we still had fun and made the most of it and talked and laughed.

IMG_5422I have to say that I was so disappointed with the movie.  I am a huge Julia Roberts fan and was hoping this would be an adorable show.  The acting was good, but the story line was slow and random and disjointed.  The best part of the whole thing were the gorgeous dresses & costumes.

I don’t even know how to express how much I love these ladies.  I am so thankful to have them in my life.  We all just “click” and get along so well together.  We’re all unique, but also have the same type of fun & happy & outgoing personalities.  I am glad we were able to get together and celebrate Karri’s birthday as a group.  I count these ladies as a huge blessing in my life.  I’m also so thrilled that Mom came since she’s my best friend of all.
